On Monday's Morning Joe on MSNBC, Joe Scarborough suggested that having a literal interpretation of the Bible could lead Christians to violence in a similar manner as radical Islam. Oddly enough, Scarborough hoped to avoid being "torn to shreds online" by equating the two, but made the comparison anyway.
The morning's panel centered on the violence of ISIS and its undeniable ties to the tenets of Islam, but Scarborough felt compelled to find a link between Islam and Christianity. He said:
“A very crude way to put it is, this would be the ultra fundamentalist Christians who believe every single word of the Bible has to be interpreted in the exact ways which could also lead to some violence.

I believe every word of the Bible. I have never done violence to another human being, and if I did I certainly would not find the justification for the deed in the Bible.
(Note I do not find defense of self or family an act of violence)

I suspect Joe is not very literate in New Testament Bible.
Yea I guess it could if Christians interbred the way Muslims have for the last 1400 years...
Funny how that works.
But, here is some interesting background for context.
Nowhere does the Bible call for a believer to harm an unbeliever.
These people are making these comments about Christians to scare people who know nothing about Christianity.
Scoffers in the last days indeed.

He’s right. Christians if they are ultra fundamentalists will put of sackcloth and pour ashes on their heads, preach in the streets and cry out for repentance. I’m sure that is a danger to the public. Many lives wil be save through repentance. But with Islam, they just kill you.
What the progressives will conclude is that all religion must be eliminated. That is the logical conclusion.
They know that self-defense is a God-Given right. So if they are worried about Christian violence where the only violence from Christians is where they are defending themselves from someone attacking them or their families - it begs the question, what are they planning to try to do to us?
