(CNN)America's immigration issue needs a comprehensive and permanent bipartisan legislative solution.
An executive action is a temporary and limited fix. On the night President Obama announced his most recent immigration executive action, I called it a Band-Aid.
Today, we found out, the Band-Aid may not stick.
n a case brought by 26 states, a federal judge in Texas issued an injunction halting implementation of the President's executive actions: the Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents (or DAPA) -- which would have granted work permits and extended deferred deportation status and expanded the the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program for undocumented immigrants who arrived in the U.S. as children.
What the immigration ruling means
This is just the beginning of the legal wrangling over this. At issue is whether President Obama exceeded his powers and tried to legislate. This is Congress' job, and the problem, to state the obvious, is that Congress is not doing it. For decades, Congress has been talking about fixing the broken immigration system. This has gone nowhere.
On the other side, you have mounting pressure on President Obama from an increasingly frustrated Latino...

United States Citizens, IF THEY WANT TO EAT !
1) 'Secure the border' bill with funds for new fencing
2) 'ENFORCE EXISTING IMMIGRATION LAWS' by reinstating practices unilaterally and ILLEGALLY STOPPED by Barry.
Congress and Presidents have acted. They haven’t enforced the law. That is the problem. There won’t be a ‘solution’ out of Congress and the President.
Heaven forbid current laws are enforced.
I want to see the Mexico USA reciprocity immigration act. We adopt Mexico’s immigration policies. Why aren’t Mexicans down protesting Mexican policies toward Guatemalans?
Simple. Because they put the Guatemalans on the train up here, often after raping and robbing them.
Illegal immigration sis only a problem because the Executive branch has NOT been enforcing the laws for decades. Obama just took it to the next step and publicly announced that he would not enforce the laws and invited illegal aliens across the border and onto welfare.
When will Obama begin deporting people — ANYONE AT ALL? This six-year moratorium on deportations has had the predictable effect. We have seen a MASSIVE increase in illegals since OZero pulled our guards from the borders and invited everyone to come on in. THIS HAS TO BE REVERSED!
Since you are for obeying all laws I’m sure you wouldn’t mind getting a speeding ticket every time you speed or one for running a stop sign every time you roll thru one. And yes I know being here illegally isn’t the same as a traffic violation. It would be impossible to deport all illegal aliens so lets come up with a smarter solution like getting border security and then give those who are here a chance after a waiting period (5 or 10 years) to become citizens.

All the amnesty, open borders, mass immigration supporters demand "comprehensive immigration reform". But you know what they never tell us? They never, ever tell us specifically which immigration laws are wrong. Did Ms. Ana GOP Navarro tell us which immigration laws need to be changed? Heck no, its a marxian complete overhaul that is required. How has that really worked in any area of government?
Hey Ms. Navarro, when you're not spending time producing strategy for the GOP, why not consider a modest reform of immigration, which first of all has to be to gain control of our borders. I realized that this isn't nuanced, but it may just work. "
