Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is calling on rank-and-file Senate Democrats to break free from the clutches of Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid, vote their conscience and stop filibustering a House-passed Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding bill.
“This ruling underscores what the President has already acknowledged publicly 22 times: He doesn’t have the authority to take the kinds of actions he once referred to as ‘ignoring the law’ and ‘unwise and unfair.’ Senate Democrats–especially those who’ve voiced opposition to the President’s executive overreach—should end their partisan filibuster of Department of Homeland Security funding,” McConnell says.
Senate Republican conference chairman Sen. John Thune (R-SD) echoed McConnell in calling for the Democrats to lay down their arms on the House-passed DHS funding bill that blocks taxpayer dollars from being used on the now-suspended executive amnesty.
“The U.S. District Court judge in Texas is raising the same legal concerns the president himself raised 22 times: he does not have the authority to take this immigration executive action,” Thune said. “I am glad the court agreed. As this case makes its way through the legal process, Senate Democrats have a responsibility to drop their filibuster of the House-passed DHS funding bill.”
Conservatives are also calling on Senate Republican leaders to force the Democrats to drop their blockade.

McConnell should grow a set, stop whining to the Democrats, and pull a Harry Reid - CHNAGE THE DAMN FILIBUSTER RULES LIKE HE CHANGED THE APPOINTMENT RULES.
If there was one message I could send to every republican it would be this. “THEY WILL NEVER LIKE YOU, THEY WILL LIE ABOUT YOU, AND ILLEGALS WILL NEVER EVER VOTE FOR YOU. Do the right thing anyway.”
Threaten to kill the filibuster again...anf then DO IT.
It’s been reported that some of the Senate Democrats that are presently blocking passage ran in 2014 on anti-Executive Amnesty.

One thing the Dems are better at than the GOP by leaps and bounds is coordinating their talking points.
Now that a federal judge has ruled against Obama’s amnesty effort, every voice in the GOP should be calling out the Dems in the Senate for holding up the DHS funding over an issue that a judge has ruled unconstitutional.
Even the likes of Chris Matthews would have trouble justifying a Dem filibuster under these circumstances. Just point out the facts, over and over again.
They want to close down Homeland Security over an an amnesty program that is unconstitutional. How dumb is that? If the GOP can’t win that one, even in the MSM, they’re not capable of winning anything anymore.
My point: In the past McConnell has always been busy "blowing to the galleries" but than CAVES when action is called for.

The fifth circuit will throw this out, this is the court that Reid killed the filibuster in order to pack with the fellow travelers.
You don't understand. When the GOPe in in the minority they are powerless, but when when the GOPe is in the majority then they are powerless. Get it?
While I am not a lawyer nor do I have any expertise that would support my opinion...
I read thru the 150 page ruling and thought the Judge took the Criminal Enterprise to school. He clearly laid out the difference between Discretionary authority to enforce Law and Legislating.
He also clearly laid out how the States would be harmed by allowing the executive order to proceed without judicial oversite.
I was disturbed at the clear intent he laid out of the Adminstration to provide these Criminal Invaders with legal status, Drivers Licenses and Free Government stuff.
The thing I kept thinking while reading it was, Driver’s Licenses and SSI cards....hmm 2-10 million newly minted Rat Voters for free stuff.
The best part was his weaving in multiple Rulings supporting his findings from both the Conservative and Liberal Supreme Court Justices.
It will be fun watching Roberts trying to throw this one..
If it gets to them. I wouldn’t put it past Nero to just let the courts trash it and he can then put all the blame on the Republicans.
The Judge didn’t rule it Unconstitutional. He issued a Stay.
He ruled the States had standing, that their case had merit and based on that, they had a good probability to win.
What good does reconciliation do if Obama vetoes? They’d then need a 2/3 vote in both houses to override it.
As long as the Pubs hold until Feb 27 and no action is taken by the circuit court, this all falls on the Rats and there isn’t a thing the media or Obama can do.
Bottom line, as of now the rats are filibustering an illegal executive order allowing funding to illegal immigrants.
If Republicans had any spine, they will add to the folly the free money the rats are giving illegals as a get out the vote tool.

You sure? I thought that was the DC Court of Appeals. This one is in Louisiana.
