And you're probably kicking yourself in the ass for not buying stock when they first went public in 1980..
What can we call that? How about "Denier's Remorse"............LOL!
iPhone debuted on January 9, 2007. Android's first multitouch screen smartphone came out on January 4, 2010, THREE YEARS after the iPhone. . . Samsung was using a 128 page internal document on "how to copy the iPhone" when it released its first smartphone.
A specifications sheet does not make a better phone. Just tossing in the kitchen sink does not make a "more robust hardware platform" or a better user interface. I doubt you have used an iPhone or iPad for any length of time. Geeks like Android. . . because they can tweak them. But the vast majority of people are not geeks.
Apple could easily buy a car company - the reason the market cap of many car companies is relatively low is because its a high cap investment/low profit business.Automobiles, on the other hand, have a CENTURY of harsh, mechanical lessons that are not part of Apple's core business experience, and it is difficult to simply "purchase" that. (Although, if any company had the ready cash to "purchase" that kind of institutional knowledge wholesale, it would currently be Apple). - Rebel_Ace
Now why they would want to do this is another question.
Indeed. Seems like youd have to be convinced that your digital competency could be made applicable - make that transformationally applicable - to problems which are so taken for granted in general that when you unveiled your prototype everyone else would be saying, Now why couldnt I have developed that! IMO that would have to be a design which modern controls make practical but which are outside the paradigm of vehicles as we know them.IOW, it would have to be an electrically powered, enclosed cabin, fly-by-wire motorcycle. With front and rear drive and steering. And, possibly, inline 1x4 seating. And retractable outrigger wheels for very low speed stability and for parking.
He has also been told, repeatedly that Apple is no different than every other multinational corporation which has PAID TAXES on the income they have earned in the jurisdictions in which they earned that income. The United States is one of only TWO countries in the world that wants to claim the right to income taxes on earnings no matter where they were earned by companies. . . double taxation. That tax rate is currently 35% for merely bringing home already taxed profits! Money that they legally own.
Apple is, contrary to what CodeToad would have you believe, the LARGEST CORPORATE TAX PAYER in the UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, paying $1 out of every $40, with a 29% effective tax rate on their United States revenues. He LIES by implying they do not pay taxes on what they earn.
Apple's CEO, Tim Cook, has appeared before the US Senate to testify to these facts when the Democrats accused Apple of paying zero taxes, and pleaded with them to change the confiscatory tax code. . . so that Apple and the other US corporations could bring their money home and invest it here. Proving once again that CodeToad LIES when he claims that Apple intends to "suck out the US economy", especially since Apple's CEO testified that none of Apple's profits from the US economy were shipped overseas, but were re-invested HERE, in the US. In fact, Apple is investing multiple billions of dollars in the US economy, notably $850 million in California for their new solar power investment, $300 million for their new head-quarters, additional billions in multiple locations for server farms in Oregon, South Carolina, etc. And all of that construction uses American Labor. So, CodeToad LIES again.
He also LIES by implying they do not employe US workers. Apple has 47,000 employees in the US out of their ~70,000 world wide work force, but also has created over ONE MILLION jobs in the US economy, all of which are directly attributable to Apple's business. . . and all of it taxable. Many of those jobs are in Manufacturing as Apple makes its MacPro in Austin, Texas, and assembles the iMacs Elk Grove, California, both of which are in the USA. So CodeToad LIES again because he knows these facts, but chooses to ignore these inconvenient facts in his posts so he can bash Apple.
CodeToad suffers from a severe case of MAPS: Swordmaker's and Kathy's proposed diagnosis for the new ICD-10 addenda:
90210 iOS Munchausen's Apple-Plexy Syndrome (MAPS), The overwhelming compulsion to post negative, judgmental, aggressive, and false commentary on any website thread related to Apple products wherever found, including phobic reaction to projected Apple user euphoria. First and subsequent encounters.

Not the actual event but a good representation.
I think your assessment is correct. . . but with $178 Billion in cash and short term liquid assets on hand, Apple has the means to BUY every American Automobile company outright. . . for cash and have money left over for operating them.
Really, you spout pure crap but you think using big red type makes you and your message more important. Give me a freakin’ break. That’s what an ass-hat troll does. Are you one? If not, cut the crap. Stop trolling and start your own damn thread.
A very stupid thing to do. . . when you can sell iPhones 3Gs for a good amount of money. Androids were a pretty much unknown quantity on the second day they were available. . . and had very few Apps available, and had lots of bugs. You tell us you shredded your iPhone instead of trading it in for an Android? That is simply not believable. You'd throw a device worth several hundred dollars in a shredder? Sure. Right.
Apple is so kewel...
Not that, but just trying to think of when Apple sold the last white Mac. They do sell white iPhones, along with Space Gray, and Gold, along with the 5Cs in multiple colors, including black.
I just checked: it was the White Polycarbonate MacBook, sold from May 10, 2010 (five years ago) only through education channels. Discontinued three years ago last week on February 8 2012.
I’ve still got a couple of original iMacs in the closet. I’ve also still got the iMac with the screen on a swivel arm. I’m not sure what to do with them ... :-) ...
I pretty much don't care what you think. Cell phones in the companies I run and own are critical operational tools. They don't work they get terminated. I even told my staff we were going back to flip phones at one point. AND while we are at it AT&T sucks.
Just cause you are first doesn't mean your product is going to be the best. 15 million hits "iphone is crap". https://www.google.com/#q=iphone+is+crap
Oh that’s really hilarious ... PAIN!
One of the most WILDLY SUCCESSFUL PRODUCTS in the history of business, making the company, APPLE, successful beyond belief ... with their huge consumer market buying these like CRAZY ... and ... you portray that as inflicting pain on the consumer.
That’s all the proof that anyone needs to know you’re TOTALLY OUT OF TOUCH with reality!
Very funny... try Googling iPhone + is + great and you get this:
"About 876,000,000 results (0.34 seconds) "
Your "iPhone is crap" results are 1.71% of the opposite search. Which corresponds pretty well to the 98% customer satisfaction index for iPhones. Thanks for the confirmation! LOL!
Posters who use pretty red bold text must be gay. What's next for CodeToad, rainbow text?
Same here. I have some iMacs, a couple on a swivel arm. Some people have converted the original iMacs to Cat beds. Others have converted the swivel arm iMacs to lamps. I bought them from a recycler, they were school surplus. Upgraded them and they work great.
Maybe... but maybe not. S/he's from Colorado, maybe s/he's just stoned on his/her ass and we should cut him/her some slack... And besides, I've thought a number of his/her posts in the past were pretty good... Wait, let's take a look at his/her recent posts, shall we...

Gee whiz, quite a few duplicate posts of BIG RED BOLD things about Apple!
Yeah, you're right. :)
Okay, I'm done poking fun at CodeToad's fondness for pretty red bold text, it's just too easy a target.
Yeah, tell it Harley Davidson.
And for the record, I didn't say that Apple makes bad products. Just that there is a segment of our society that thinks that they can't.
