Not muskrat. There are no muskrats in AK that I know of. More likely seal or sea otter. Todd is half Yupik, his mother, or a friend or acquaintance, probably made it for her. She is always proud to wear or show hand-crafted Alaskan things. She is proud of Alaska, and proud of its artisans. I don't blame her.
Personally I like jeweley I used have necklace like that until got lost up in Alaska I don’t know where I put up I still have some native jewley that I score at Fairbanks store still in business
