what the alarmists don’t tell us is that man is only responsible for 0.0037% of the CO2 in the atmosphere (we are responsible for only 3.4% of the total atmospheric CO2 which is only 0.04% of the total atmosphere- so 3.4% divided by 0.04% = 0.0037% of TOTAL AMOSPHERIC CO2- This means that nature is responsible for the rest 99.9963%- so can someone please explain to me how our contribution of just 0.0037% makes us, in the words of the alarmists “Almost 100% responsible for global climate change”?
Folks- our atmosphere has only 0.04% CO2 in it- NOWHERE near enough CO2 to be trapping ANY significant amount of heat and ‘back radiating’ it to earth to ‘warm the global climates’
0.04% simply is NOT enough to affect the climate one iota- MOST of the esaping heat from earth goes right on out into space- because only a tiny fraction of our atmosphere has any CO2 in it- not even 1% of the atmosphere has CO2 in it-
It is a myth that there is a ‘big thick blanket of CO2 surrounding our planet trapping all the heat, and back radiating it to earth-
If CO2 is sooooo good at reflecting heat why don’t the manufacturers of double and triple-pane windows use it instead of argon to fill the gaps in between the panes?
Not true. The level of CO2 has gone from 0.028% to 0.04% since the 1800's. Here's a depiction of natural CO2 fluctuations:
You can see that there are fluctuations from about 200 to 300 corresponding to a temperature rise of about 10C. Thus some of the current rise can be attributed to natural warming after the Little Ice Age, Assuming a 1C natural rise, that would be 10ppm rise in CO2.
So the question is where did the rest of the 120ppm rise come from? How come CO2 is still rising 2-3 ppm per year? The answer is in the data:
This data comes from simple economic data sources of cement production, but mainly fossil fuel burning: http://cdiac.ornl.gov/trends/emis/tre_glob.html
Well, if nothing died and decayed, that would reduce CO2, by a great deal.
