Help is being offered this weekend to sign up. An official cautions: "You can't delay any longer."
With this year's deadline to buy an Obamacare health plan just two days away, enrollment groups and at least one insurer are sponsoring sign-up events across the region, starting Friday and running through 10 p.m. Sunday.
"You can't delay any longer," said Neil Deegan, Pennsylvania state director for Get Covered America, a nonprofit group whose goal is to get Americans covered by health insurance. "If you are without insurance, it is really important that you come out and get covered."
The plans are designed for individuals, often come with subsidies and can be bought regardless of any illness you may have. If you sign up by the Feb. 15 deadline, you will have coverage beginning March 1.
Once the Affordable Care Act marketplace closes at midnight Sunday, consumers can buy insurance only if they experience a life-changing event such as marriage, having a baby, or losing job-provided coverage.
Those who don't purchase before the deadline will face fines of $325 for an adult and $162.50 for each child, or 2 percent of household income when they file their 2015 taxes.

In Pennsylvania, more than 438,000 consumers either bought plans or were automatically reenrolled on their current policy. Of those people, 81 percent were eligible for an average subsidy of $230 a month.
Across the river in New Jersey, 222,640 people purchased or reenrolled in plans with 83 percent qualifying for an average subsidy of $309 a month.

I wonder what the percentages are. I'm sure we'll never be able to find out, even with this most transparent administration ever.
Time for one more “selfie stick” promo.
“Obamacare enrollment ends Sunday”
Promise?
Didn’t have it last year.
Won’t have it this year.
Who is John Galt?
Why does enrollment end at all?
Isn’t the goal to get uninsured people insured?
If so, then why is there a deadline? Why are their conditions under which one can only be insured once this deadline passes?
Why would an uninsured person be denied coverage at anytime?
Great
We’ve paid cash for doctor visits since we lost our health coverage years ago.
Now we get fined because we can’t afford the fricking coverage .
“Why does enrollment end at all?”
I’ve wondered this myself. Could be some kind of shenanigans on the insurance company side.
I am not signing up. Only way I will pay is if in front of a gun. Still cheaper.
You are not alone.
