Hundreds of former Internal Revenue Service employees who had a history of misconduct and poor performance on the job were rehired by the tax agency, including some who had committed fraud or falsified documents.
The previously cited IRS staff included 141 employees who had problems paying their own taxes, the agencys inspector general said in a report made public Thursday. Several had willfully failed to file their federal tax returns, the report said.
The IRS hired more than 7,000 former employees between January 2010 and September 2013. Of the 824 who returned to the agency despite their checkered work history, nearly one-fifth may have already run into new performance or conduct problems by the time of the inspector generals review, according to a statistical analysis.
Four employees returned to the same positions in which prior performance deficiencies had been documented. Five were rehired despite conduct breaches such as threats, sexual harassment, unprofessional conduct, off-duty misconduct, and criminal misconduct.

Koskinen should be prosecuted and thrown in jail. Get Lois Lerner off the street and throw her in jail, too.
Why not hire back criminals? It’s a criminal organization. And now they need more thugs to shake down people to collect the street tax on obamacare. Wake up, America. The nightmare started 6 years ago, and it’s about to become a more ugly reality as it starts directly stealing from your pocket. Enjoy the rape. It will continue and become worse. Nothing like democrats and their strong inclination for plutocracy in the name of helping the working man, the little people, the children, the minorities, illegal immigrants, the gays, the transgendered, the disenfranchised, the unemployed, etc. Emotional porn for your consumption.
I really believe that you might be on to something here. Time to shut the whistleblowers up.
The best tax: the one that taxes thee but does not tax me.
Absolute power corrupting absolutely Ping.
The administration placed in charge by a corrupt voter IS a criminal enterprise.
Yeah, but they vote Democrat.
I blame the various unions representing these miscreants for the procedures that led to their rehire.
It has become quite difficult to keep bad employees from continuing to appeal their cases after they have filed a grievance with the union, and because of the accrued expense of trying to fight the reinstatement, it is usually less expensive (or less tiresome) to simply drop the objection to reinstatement than to continue to fight it. But then, I don’t think the factor of expense ever enters into these calculations.
But weariness certainly does.
Koskinen and Lerner should both be in one of those facilities that are especially set up for white-collar criminals. There certainly could be found enough to indict both of them.
Why would the IRS care?
They’re getting free money, which they don’t even deserve which they did not even earn.
So why in tarnation would they care who they hire to seize the tax payers money?
??
THUGS
This is like saying, why would the cartels or the mob hire bad people?
That's the first thing that popped into my mind...Binding Arbitration.
Thanks for the ping, TADSLOS.
With all this IRS corruption surfacing since Ophonybama and his LIEberal/Socialist/Marxist/Fascist/Islamicist posse conned their way into the White House, we should keep pressing the FairTax.
After all, replacing the income tax with the FairTax and abolishing the IRS would certainly end the IRS corruption, wouldn’t it?
Once we end the IRS corruption, ending the rest of the US government corruption will be a piece of cake!
And, it would rid us of the LIEberal/Socialist/Marxist/Fascist/Islamicist posse!
Well, hell, it works for a certain NY Congressman, what’s the problem ?
