File this story under Darwin Awards.
If you live in a state that properly respects the Second Amendment, be careful before pulling a gun on someone, as they may pull one right back.
A masked gun man, or rather toy gun man, tried to rob a Pennsylvania man in a local park. The victim, a 67-year-old man, pulled out a real gun and shot him, according to Pennsylvania authorities.
The incident took place at 2:30pm on Wednesday in Cobbs Creek Park in other words, in broad daylight. Upper Darby Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said a 67-year-old man was walking when he was confronted by two masked men. One was carrying a stick and the other a toy gun.
The man then pulled out his own .38 caliber handgun and shot one of the suspects in the head, police said. That man, who police say is in his late teens or early 20′s, died at the scene.
Firearms are the great equalizer: here we see a young 20-year-old man try to rob an elderly 67 year old. Thank G-d he could protect himself.
The police superintendent said the toy gun looked very real; they did not realize it was a fake until they got close look at the weapon.
Its refreshing to see the polices reaction: The victim did a great job, Chitwood said.
The second suspect, the one with the stick, is still on the loose. The victim was taken to the hospital with chest pains but is expected to recover. He had a concealed-weapons permit.
No charges will be filed since the victim was acting in self-defense.

Rock, paper, yer skrooed!
Watch out for them old men, if they can’t fight, they will just Kill you!!!
I've read on other threads here that the smart thing to do after shooting someone in a case like this is to claim chest pains, because it preempts police questioning on the scene and gives the shooter a chance to get their thoughts straight and not say anything stupid in the excitement of the moment.
From another article on the story:
“The robbery suspect, described as a black male in his late teens or early 20s...”
“an elderly 67 year old.”
I’m 68, and don’t like being called “elderly.
I’m sure the robber was a “good kid” who just went bad all of a sudden.
My heart bleeds. /sarc
More proof that the dope smoking DemocRATS are full of sh*t when they suspend or arrest a kid who takes a toy gun to school.
if it helps the da not prosecute you i’d bear it - for awhile.
disparity of force favors the elderly. also those outnumbered. always remember it is a legal comcept well-known by the justice sytstem and victims almost always have one way or more where disparity of force allows them to use equal or greater force than their attackers.
John Turner at age 67.
Thank you for brightening my day. If he had not had a weapon, he would be dead. Since there were more than one of them, he would have been beaten to death. I would say these cowards were pretty brazen, though. That breed of animals usually runs in packs of at least six.
That’s because you’re not elderly.
And this is coming from someone who is about to turn 39. :)
If the RATs get their way you’ll be called over-aged and the doctors will put you down.
Superb.
Good to know that it isn’t ONLY the police who can shoot people with toy guns.

OOPPS, ping!
Another reason for ‘Gun safety’ laws.
I would TROLL them if the article was on a Mainstream Media site. Something like: “So the cycle of violence continues”; “A man, just one acceptance letter away from Harvard Law School has his life snuffed by an ANGRY VIGILANTE, looking for a fight”.
The idea is to say PUBLICLY what the Democrats say to each other, behind closed doors (and trust me, they do say exactly that, and worse).
And cue The Simpsons HA-HA graphic.
If you should ever happen to shoot a robber, burglar, etc. or a person who is assaulting you or menacing you, you will love to be called "elderly". You get special protection under the law.
I remember a store clerk paging another clerk to help me. He told him to see the older guy. I was in my 40's.
