President Barack Obama wants Christians to know Islam is not the only religion that has inspired violence and terror.
"Unless we get on our high horse and think this is unique to some other place, remember that during the crusades and the inquisition, people committed terrible deeds in the name of Christ," Obama said Wednesday. "And in our home country, slavery, and Jim Crow, all too often was justified in the name of Christ."
Obama made the comments while giving a major speech on religion at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington. Citing Islamic, Jewish, and Christian scripture, Obama touted his own faith.
"This prayer tradition has brought us together, giving us the opportunity to come together in humility before the Almighty and to be reminded of what it is that we share as children of God. And certainly for me this is always a chance to reflect on my own faith journey," he said. "No matter the challenge He has been there for all of us. He certainly strengthened me through the power of his spirit."

So who is the “our” he’s identifying with???
Good point - worth repeating:
“Yes, some evil acts were done in the name of Christ. However, those who did them were going against the teachings of Jesus. When Muslims commit atrocities they are dutifully following the teachings of their “prophet”.
Obama criticizes Christians today for events that occurred 1,500 years ago, but won’t criticize Muslims for what happened last week. Figures.
I’m more upset with our representatives, and people, that we have done nothing whatsoever to deal with this fraud....and even when he identifies himself with Islam so vividly ....has 15 of them in a private meeting .....and still our Representatives just talk...that’s it! Obama’s doing exactly what he said he would do and what we knew he was capable of...........and STILL we do nothing to prevent him from leaving a scorched earth when he’s finally gone!

Interesting how that critically important point is always omitted.
Nobody cares. The GOP might (and then again they might not), but they care about their own power much, much more. Besides, someone might accuse them of being intolerant. /S
So many WOW moments in just a few sentences.
1. Apparently, Obama is now admitting that Islam IS the reason for the violence!!! This is an absolute 180 from the past 6 years. THIS SHOULD HEADLINE EVERY STORY!! He can no longer deny that it is Islam that is behind the violence, as he had been doing since he came into power.
2. He is justifying Islamic violence AT A NATIONAL PRAYER BREAKFAST.
3. He justifies present day murders by referring to events form a thousand years ago, which is extremely common in the Muslim faith, but is not a characteristic of Christian societies. Muslims constantly refer to past wrongs to justify their own criminal and murderous actions... and now our President follows suit.
Again, how are all three of these points not major nation headlines today? And why aren't we all posting them on every social forum that we belong to?
And while some people hijacked Christianity to justify slavery, Jim Crow, and racism, millions of Christians locked arms in protest and lead the fight for change and racial justice. Indeed, millions of American Christians have died over the last 225 years fighting wars against radical "Christians" in an effort to liberate people of all races, ethnicities, and religions. Yet the Muslim world remains overwhelmingly silent as the so-called radical Muslim minority continues to torture, rape, and kill in the name of Islam.
The Obamanation answers to no one and has nothing to fear or an election to lose, so he can say anything and do anything. He knows no one will do anything to stop him, least of all the RINOs in Congress. God Help Us! (Tagline)
I’m surprised the Muslim didn’t highlight the people of Massachusetts who recently (in Obama’s perception) burned and hanged witches in the name of Christ.

ISIS and Al Qaida are allowing Obama to stay in power as long as he doesn’t call them Muslims. Kind of a go along to get along thing.
