I have said for years the cloud is a farce. If you don’t physically control your data it is not your data.
BTW -- the US military is actively moving to put more of their mission critical data in the cloud. But don't worry. They're gonna be super careful. [/s]
Agree w/ you 110%. The day will come soon when people will stop loving the cloud so much.
A really good hack and hundreds (thousands?) of people losing money will bring the cloud to its knees.
I trust no one with my data except me. I go out of my way to minimize the amount of my stuff that is “out there.”
When I was in business, I attended a HIPAA conference with other vendors. We sat at tables of six and listened to a decent one-hour talk on HIPPA. At the end of the meeting each table was asked to discuss HIPPA among our selves and develop one or two sentences describing our feelings about HIPAA based on the presentation.
I forget the exact words we used, but it was along the lines of, “These regulations will cause extreme stress among all involved in healthcare, including patients. We cannot predict a good outcome for this.”
