are Jordan and Israel still in opposition to each other?
I would think that both of these nations, working together, could really start a major push-back against ISIS.
Israel and Jordan are technically enemies but there are plenty of rumors of quiet cooperation. I know Abdulla sent one of his kids to Israel for emergency surgery a few years ago and his dogs go to an Israeli vet
Jordan's leadership has played its cards wisely over the years -- sometimes in ways that hasn't endeared itself to the U.S. They were openly "neutral" in the 1990 Iraq War, for example.
Jordan ceded its claims to the West Bank in 1988, which had the unusual result of easing tensions with Israel while at the same time getting an enormous problem off its hands and into Israel's hands.
Jordan have very good relations with Israel. The king came to ask Obama for an urgent need of oil and bombs. Obama will delay and procrastinate the help to our most loyal Arab country in the Middle. Hopefully Israel, Egypt and Saudi Arabia will rush to his help. In spite of Obama, this might be the beginning of an alliance of moderate Muslims against the savage Islamic terrorists.
No they have had good relations for decades. Israel even sent its air force to deter a Syrian invasion of Jordan many years ago.
