The Senate just failed to pass a bill to fund Department of Homeland Security by forcing President Obama to undo his executive actions to protect unauthorized immigrants from deportation.
One Republican, Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV), voted with Democrats against the bill.
Congress and the president need to agree on a plan to fund DHS sometime before February 27th, when its current funding runs out.
If they can't agree on a funding bill, DHS will be in a technical shutdown but around 85 percent of the department will keep coming to work as "essential" government workers or employees of fee-funded agencies.

Even a retarded person knows that answer.
GOP FOLDS.
See my tagline.

Tagline is brief and to the point...as is mine.
I don't see the problem, here. DHS is a disaster of an agency. Most of it should be abolished.
First one was best.
Fixed it for you.
I wouldn’t put it past the spiteful Obama to shut down the airlines, via TSA, because of this.
No, you didn't.
The GOP IS the Establishment. What few "radicals" remain are powerless and inconsequential.
I must be missing the problem.
Good, let DHS go out of business.
Incorrect. The GOPe = The GOP. Deal with it. Anyone who fancies themselves a patriot has already walked away from the lying, stinking, filthy rotten traitors.
The Senate just failed to pass a bill...

One Republican, Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV), voted with Democrats against the bill.
This makes no sense.
If only one R did not vote for it, how did it not pass?
Beat me to it.
The uni-party will do as it wishes. The bad guys will be picked by the money masters, much like in the WWE. The two wings of the uni-party will attack each other, in a choreographed dance that serves to divide the public. The public picks a side, and attacks each other while the uni-party does what the money masters demand.
In the end, all in the political class get wealthy, while the laugh at the morons in the public who don’t even notice what’s being done to them.
Did the full senate vote or what?
Actually, they don't. Let it die.
I don’t doubt they could do their job with 85% of their employees. But of course the GOP will fold. It’s what they do best. If they really wanted to pass it the would have done the same reconciliation trick the RATS did to pass Obamacare.
15% non-essential personnel get a vacation. Big whoop.
No cloture. No vote.
We don’t need no Stinkin DHS.
