Vincenzo Giovanni Ruello an experimental photographer from Australia has discovered what he claims to be the second shroud in existance in 2011 when he processed the Vatican Veronica Veil. The disturbing images show an identical face to the Shroud of Turin but tortured and battered with an eye bashed closed, fractured cheek, severe bruising. Gloria tv is screening the historical discovery never since Secondo Pia in 1898 has the world seen such images. http://gloria.tv/media/1cbGFGbq6Je
How is it that there are 2 shrouds?
The link is not at all helpful in terms of telling us the history of this second shroud.
Where did he find it?
John 19:32-33: So the soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first man and of the other who was crucified with Him; 33but coming to Jesus, when they saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs.
Ain't Jesus.
My understanding is there is a Shroud and also the head covering that was “folded and laid on the stone where He lay.” The head covering was known to be in Constantinople before the city was sacked.
It can't be Christ- Psalm 34:19-20: 19Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the LORD delivers him out of them all. 20He keeps all his bones, Not one of them is broken.
John 19:32-33: So the soldiers came, and broke the legs of the first man and of the other who was crucified with Him; 33but coming to Jesus, when they saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs.
Looks like this is the separate piece; I wonder if it has the same pollen and distinctive weave style as the main shroud.
I’ve already got one.
So this is a second head covering rather than a shroud?
No this is Veronica’s Veil. As Christ was carrying the crucifix and being lashed and driven by the Roman soldiers she emerged from the crowd with a piece of cloth and wiped his face off of the sweat and blood leaving this image. She was made a saint.
In all seriousness, this sort of stuff is just a form of idolatry.
Thank you. Didn’t know this.
I surprised that no one ha started merchandising SPECIAL photographs of this shroud...
Of course it is
I met the official photographer of the Shroud. He was completely convinced the Shroud is authentic, although oddly enough he remains an unconverted Jew.
Although he said there is no truth to there being any pollen on the shroud.
Fetchez la vache!
Aside: (I told em we’ve already got one). (Snickers under breath).
That is the way I read it. I do know that when a Jewish body was laid in a tomb it was placed on a long piece of cloth that was then folded from the top of the head down to the feet. Then a second cloth was placed over the head to hold down the shroud. When the Disciples went into the tomb they found it empty and the head cloth had been folded and placed on the stone where Jesus had laid. So there were two cloths. There is some history about the face cloth being displayed over a gate in Constantinople. See “The Blood and the Shroud” by Ian Wilson.
