A former employee at the Radio Shack in Corte Madera is charged with stealing racy personal photos off a customer's cellphone.
Jose Robert Miranda, 24, of Richmond is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Marin Superior Court. He is free on bail.
Miranda and Radio Shack have also been named as defendants in a civil lawsuit by the alleged victim, a 28-year-old San Francisco woman.
The woman says she brought the phone to the Radio Shack in November to get its broken glass repaired. On Jan. 8, she was deleting photos from her tablet, which is connected to her call phone through iCloud, when she realized 17 of her photos had been texted to an unfamiliar phone number.
"The photographs in question were of a private and sensitive nature and depicted the Plaintiff wearing little or no clothing," her attorney, Timothy Osborn of Bakersfield, wrote in the lawsuit.

Here we have TWO stupid people.
The woman:
- Takes nudie selfies with her phone.
- Leaves them on the phone.
- Turns the phone in for service.
The Radio Shack employee:
- Searches the phone for photos (he had no business doing so).
- Looks at them (invasion of privacy).
- Texts them to himself.
- Doesn't delete records of the texting.
Unbelievable, except that she's 28 and he's 24. Kids these days....

No sympathy from me.If you're gonna take pornographic photos of yourself don't come crying to me if they somehow fall into unfriendly hands.

Hell, I remember when, if you took a roll of film in for developing service and it had racy photos on it, YOU got in trouble, not the film operator who noticed them.

Probably a scheme devised by the two to bilk Radio Shack. Wait till they find out they’re bankrupt.

I don’t think this case is the reason Radio Shack is going out of business, but ya never know....

Not really Apple news per se, but it apparently involves an iPhone since it mentions iCloud, so just giving you a heads-up...

That is dumb. It’s Radio Shack, they don’t have USB adapters for phones there?
To: dayglored
There has been a long history of employees at Best Buy, Staples etc., where foolish people think their information is safe, rifling through customers files and pulling pictures and information off. This time it just happened to be Radio Shack.

If the employee knew anything about iPhones, and had a brain, he would have done exactly that -- plug the iPhone into a Mac with a USB cable, bring up the Image Capture app, read the photos into the Mac, and no record of anything.
What a maroon.

Yup. If you don’t ever want anybody to see it, never take the picture. Maybe they immigrated from Dumbassistan.

A good technician fully tests the functionality of a device he repairs. True, that. But I don't think that'll work as a defense these days.
But I wonder, if it had been a guy's phone, and a female employee who did the same thing... ???
