However, if MacArthur can get an MoH, why not Kyle? The MoH has always been political.
Yes, the MoH has always been political, but that doesn’t make it right. The political issue these days is that the Department of Defense applies a political filter to current nominations resulting in many deserving awards being delayed or denied because they don’t support the DoD public affairs agenda of the day.
Teddy Roosevelt got the CMH retroactive.
And there are too few of them awarded because the civilians didn't want heroes from "Bush's Warz".
So yes, the medal's political. It didn't used to be that way, but welcome to the USSA.
