Yes, the MoH has always been political, but that doesn’t make it right. The political issue these days is that the Department of Defense applies a political filter to current nominations resulting in many deserving awards being delayed or denied because they don’t support the DoD public affairs agenda of the day.
I’d much rather see a SEAL that’s been in combat get a MoH than have those clowns Petraeus and Dempsey get Valor awards while they were General officers. The military awards system is already broke anyway. Plus, it would drive the liberals nuts.
