They always vow revenge but it never happens. ISIS always wins.

The Japanese are a formidable enemy.
The ragheads are insane for messing with them.

Good. Its about time the civilized world pried off the insane progressives' death grip on their societies, with their empty rhetoric and vapid slogans.
I want my leaders to talk (and act) like this.

“...the world has suddenly begun to look like a much more dangerous place to a peaceful and prosperous nation that had long seen itself as immune to the sorts of violence faced by the United States and its Western allies.”
This is less a reflection on Japan’s passivity than it is a reflection on the reality that islam is at war with civilization in general.
I’m not islamophobic. I am, however, islamo-aware. These barbarians are stuck in the seventh century, still heeding the literal words of their pedophile pseudo prophet. We are experiencing the latest escalation of their war on civilization, and we dare not lose.
Welcome Japan to the fight. It will take us all to put this to rest.

The Japanese have maritime force with out of area reach. They actively participated in the coalition operations in the Indian Ocean but made sure they remained far from any area of real conflict. The JNSDF were obviously interested in getting real time experience in distant station operations. Japan has effectively no way to strike at ISIS on its turf unless they and the Israelis strike some sort of deal by which Israel supports Japanese SF assets. The Japanese SF are very well trained and equipped.

They can fulfill Bill Clinton's adolescent fantasy of sending a band of ninja warriors into the stronghold of the jihadis.

Japan’s military is greatly curtailed in size and scope due to the unconditional surrender agreement signed in 1945, we all know that. The big question is, given those constraints, what can they do? Send in some candy-ass ‘peace keeping’ mission that will be taken as more hostages?

"This is 9/11 for Japan" It's getting old seeing bad, but in no way comparable acts, being compared to 9/11.

They are going to send more band-aids. But now the band-aids will have little "rising sun" logos.

Walid Shoebat has an interesting take on Japan, and so far events have held up his opinion. He feels that Japan is preparing for war and wants to change their constitution to allow it. Japan's PM did not negotiate seriously with ISIS, so that when its citizens were executed, it would provide political support to change the constitution.

"It is time for Japan to stop daydreaming that its good will and noble intentions would be enough to shield it from the dangerous world out there. Americans have faced this harsh reality, the French have faced it, and now we are, too.""Welcome to the party, pal." And I do hope you mean it.
I like their martial arts, their history and warrior class and their willingness to take it to extremes, such as with their Kamikaze forces.
They and their common sense have been PC'ed, just like we have, but I suspect they can shake it off much faster if given a reason.
Personally, I could go for some far less interesting times than these right about now, but it is what it is. Unless God turns the heat down, things are going to boil.
