HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. Their children have been sent home from school. Their families are barred from birthday parties and neighborhood play dates. Online, people call them negligent and criminal. And as officials in 14 states grapple to contain a spreading measles outbreak that began near here at Disneyland, the parents at the heart of Americas anti-vaccine movement are being blamed for incubating an otherwise preventable public-health crisis.
Measles anxiety rippled thousands of miles beyond its center on Friday as officials scrambled to try to contain a wider spread of the highly contagious disease which America declared vanquished 15 years ago, before a statistically significant number of parents started refusing to vaccinate their children. In recent days, new measles cases popped up in Nebraska and Minnesota, New York and Marin County in California. Officials around the country reported rising numbers of patients who were seeking shots, as well as some pediatricians who were accepting non-vaccinated families but were debating changing their policies. The White House urged parents to listen to the science that supports inoculations...

In my experience, people who say this seem unable to process the content of the link and instead try to attack the link itself. I like evaluating facts. To each their own. I suggest you read the interview and the linked information I did both...I evaluated facts...I disagree...

Why not let families who have faith based concerns "live and let live". Are they protecting us from ourselves? For clarity purposes only, I am a Catholic.
Faith based concerns??? What does that mean??
I won't surmise here with goofey analogies, I'll just wait for your response.

They come to Mecca on round trip tickets and I doubt the epidemic would stay there. Now if we could plan on that........I shouldn't even have thought of that...oh well...

but, we already have hundreds of deaths from vaccinations, why do you want more?

Pharma sells death and nothing else. (Just as Gods word told us about the woman that touched Yeshuas Talit and got healed; the healers had taken all her money and done nothing for her) HALLELUJIA...we are all saved Editor-surveyor is here...no need for any of those immunizaton things...Yeshua will take over now and EVERY ONE IS CURED.......take an aspirin and go to bed..

When I ask for a list of what was prescribed to elderly relatives in the hospital while they were there, its like IM THE ONLY ONE WHO EVER ASKED THAT QUESTION.
Your ELDERLY relatives were in the hospital maybe because they were ELDERLY...which meany that they took their meds and lived a LONG time=elderly.
So you don't bother to ask what pills you are given by doctors, you just take them ? You don't keep track of what you take ? So if you're in the hospital for a week, and were given 10 pills a day, you'd prefer to not know what pills you were given ? I'm being silly - I hope - I'm sure you would want to participate in your own care to know what you are given, and what instructions come with each pill.
If you read the information that is available from manufacturers, NIH, etc., on each medicine, you can find out about their pharmacokinetics:
(from Wikipedia,
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pharmacokinetics)
* Liberation - the process of release of a drug from the pharmaceutical formulation.[3][4] See also IVIVC.
* Absorption - the process of a substance entering the blood circulation.
* Distribution - the dispersion or dissemination of substances throughout the fluids and tissues of the body.
* Metabolization (or biotransformation, or inactivation) the recognition by the organism that a foreign substance is present and the irreversible transformation of parent compounds into daughter metabolites.
* Excretion - the removal of the substances from the body. In rare cases, some drugs irreversibly accumulate in body tissue."
This is the reality of "how medicines work".
When your relatives' cardiologist and nephrologist both tell you that their medicine(s) are indeed slowly destroying the kidneys, it makes you start "believing" in the "myth" that medicines ought to be taken with the utmost care. Multiple times per year, the nephrologist monitors just how bad things are and orders courses of action to forestall damage as best he can.

I just trust that the medical profession has advanced beyond blood letting and amulets.
Not much beyond. Just research and find everything you can where the medical industry's own publications say something to the effect that "they do not know the mechanism" by which things happen. If you start with a high-level condition or diagnosis - any one - and start drilling down into the details, invariably that's what you find.
It is also very common for the mechanisms by which medicines work to not be understood, even though the industry designs and produces them and regulators approve them. Not knowing a precise mechanism is not a barrier to market entry.
Notably, this includes anesthetics, which have been in use and researched for 150 years.
Theories of general anaesthetic action
(from the link):
General anaesthetics have been widely used in surgery since 1842 when Crawford Long for the first time administered diethyl ether to a patient and performed a painless operation. It has always been believed that general anaesthetics exert their effects (analgesia, amnesia, immobility) by modulating the activity of membrane proteins in the neuronal membrane. However, the exact location and mechanism of this action are still largely unknown although much research has been done in this area. There are a number of outdated and modern theories that attempt to explain anaesthetic action.
For the most part, damaged organs are not repaired, but simply cut out of the patient. There is promise with stem cell research, but that is steadfastly slow-walked by big healthcare working with regulators to keep it from being covered by insurance. A classic case is joint replacements. Stem cell therapy has had great success in this area, but it remains basically an expensive cash-only alternative, thus protecting operations like the knee replacement, of which about 300,000 are performed in a single year in the US. The dollar amount of those operations, of course, is well into the billions, and, since "no price is too high" where covered health insurance claims are concerned, the manufacture of the artificial joints is extremely profitable. Stryker Corporation, in fact, is right here in NJ, and I have an uncle that works for a very small company right here in NJ that machines titanium parts in that industry - it is a very profitable business. Being a very hard, tough metal, titanium is difficult to machine, and of course, the final part must be precisely dimensioned and have a consistent, quality finish (texture), since it is destined to go inside a person's body. Thus the work is very profitable, given that the primary manufacturers (the customers) can easily charge high prices for their end products.
This is not to say that profit is a bad thing, but that industry consolidation and health insurance rate increases, as well as the normal regulatory wall combine to stymy competition and aruably raise costs quite a bit more than would be necessary in an ideal business and regulatory environment. Not many people would want to disturb the status quo on such a profitable industry.

When my kids were young, there was no measles vaccine. All the kids I knew had them and not one of the died...They all had mumps and chicken pox also. My daughter had scarlet fever but they had penicillin by then. Now when I was a small child, certain children’s diseases put your house under quarantine. Doctors posted the sign on the front door of the house...the only one I remember is my dad could not come in the house for 4 days when the doctor came and took down the sign. The disease most people dreaded was their child getting polio.....no vaccine for that and it was a killer and crippler of thousands of children. Look up Iron Lung and get some insite on the polio killer....You do have a great smarmy vocabulary...some ignorance also.

Yes but you can’t say the mortality rate would be the same if they didn’t get vaccinated.

Nice try.
“Key facts
Measles is one of the leading causes of death among young children even though a safe and cost-effective vaccine is available.
In 2013, there were 145 700 measles deaths globally about 400 deaths every day or 16 deaths every hour.
Measles vaccination resulted in a 75% drop in measles deaths between 2000 and 2013 worldwide.
In 2013, about 84% of the world’s children received one dose of measles vaccine by their first birthday through routine health services up from 73% in 2000.
During 2000-2013, measles vaccination prevented an estimated 15.6 million deaths making measles vaccine one of the best buys in public health.
Measles is a highly contagious, serious disease caused by a virus. In 1980, before widespread vaccination, measles caused an estimated 2.6 million deaths each year.
The disease remains one of the leading causes of death among young children globally, despite the availability of a safe and effective vaccine. Approximately 145 700 people died from measles in 2013 mostly children under the age of 5.”

No, read what it says. It says “People who got vaccinated, still died”. That’s normal. A certain number will die. There can be bad doses of vaccine. Some people will get the flu anyway. Some people have compromised immune systems.
It didn’t say “All the people who got vaccinated were not spared from the flu”.
We can’t measure the number of people who didn’t get the flu because they got vaccinated.
