Brooklyn imam: “Let us admit…that we, the Muslims, are time bombs…The majority of us Muslims hate the Christians”

The imam Tareq Yousef Al-Masri apparently believes that jihad terrorists have hijacked the Religion of Peace, as he says: “Anyone claiming that we are not allowed to wish the Christians happy holidays has prepared the killers in France, Boston, in Iraq, in Syria, in Egypt…These people constitute the fertile ground for terrorism, which they present as the religion of Allah, conveyed to the Prophet Muhammad, while Islam has nothing to do with them.” Nonetheless, he has gone much farther than virtually all other Muslim authorities and spokesmen in admitting that all too many Muslims are taught to hate Christians (he could have added “and other non-Muslims”), and in saying, “I am ashamed of the rotten and despicable conduct of the Muslims,” when Islamic supremacists never, ever say a negative word about the activities of any Muslim, but instead blame the Infidels for every jihad attack. Will he now be denounced as an “Islamophobe” and a tool of the Zionists?

“Brooklyn Imam Tareq Yousef Al-Masri on Paris Terror Attacks: We Muslims Must Admit That We Are Time Bombs and We Hate Christians,” MEMRI, January 9, 2015:

On a Friday sermon in the Brooklyn Oulel-Albab Mosque, Imam Tareq Yousef Al-Masri spoke about the terror attacks in Paris, and said that Muslims are like time bombs. He further said that Muslims should admit that they hate Christians. Imam Al-Masri explained that Wahhabi ideology is responsible for instilling hatred in the hearts of Muslims, which leads to terrorism worldwide.

Following are excerpts from the sermon, which was posted on the Internet on January 9, 2015.

Tareq Yousef Al-Masri: The crisis in France casts its shadow upon us. The two brothers who stormed the offices of the [Charlie Hebdo] magazine, which published offensive cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad, and affronted the Muslims, just as it affronts others… This is a satirical magazine, which is well known as such. This magazine knows no limits when it comes to freedom of speech.

It is peculiar that two years ago, during the Boston [marathon], it was two brothers, of Chechen origin, and now, we have two brothers – of Algerian origin, I think. What’s the story with brothers? What’s the story with that all-destructive ideology?

Let us admit, without lying to ourselves, that we, the Muslims, are time bombs. When I say “we, the Muslims,” I do not mean every single Muslim, but Muslims of the religious sector are time bombs. When a sinner repents, the first thing he does is make a bomb. He blows it up and kills people.

We must admit this. We cannot become immune if we do not admit this. If you have cancer, it won’t help you if I tell you that you have the flu. I must tell you that you clearly have cancer. When someone has cancer, they run a series of tests, in order to identify the cause of this cancer. They don’t just say that this cancer is an act of God. Everything comes from Allah, but this should not prevent us from studying the underlying reasons for this cancer.

Let us admit something else. The majority of us Muslims hate the Christians – true or false? Yes, that is the truth.

[…]

When you see how many people oppose [congratulating Christians on their holidays], you have to admit that deep-rooted hatred dwells in the hearts of Muslims. Someone might say to me: “Do you think they love us? They hate us too.” What do you care what others do? Just because there are thieves, would you become a thief too? In that case, all people would be thieves.

[…]

Who instilled so much hatred in these generations? It is the ideology present in the books – the ideology of Ibn Taymiyyah, of Ibn Al-Qayyam, of Al-Nawawi. These are the pillars of this ideology. In modern times, we have Ibn Baz, Ibn Al-Uthaymeen, Al-Huweini, Muhammad Hassan… These people are responsible for instilling hatred in human beings.

[…]

Christians sometimes cite the Quranic verses used by these thugs, those [Salafi] scholars who have corrupted the nation of Muhammad, and who have buried our good reputation in the ground. I’ve just mentioned their names – from the past and from the present.

[…]

When we tell people that it is forbidden to wish a Christian “Merry Christmas,” does this not lay the foundation for terrorism? This is how you condition yourself to feel hatred.

[…]

The truth of the Quran has been distorted by scholars who corrupt the youth. Those killers [in France] are the victims of Ibn Taymiyyah, of Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, of Ibn Al-Qayyim, of Al-Nawawi, of Al-Huweini, of Ibn Baz, of Ibn Al-Uthaymeen, of Muhammad Hassan. By Allah, these are wretched victims, who believe that they are worshipping Allah by killing people.

[…]

[These scholars consider] any Quranic verse of moral value to have been abrogated. They consider any verse that calls to treat people with kindness to have been abrogated. All that remains valid is: Kill! Slaughter! Is that the only thing that God tells us?!

[…]

They have made the Muslims hate everyone – the Christians, the Jews, the atheists, and all human beings. Why did God say: “We made peoples and tribes that you may know one another”? How can you get to know other people if you hate them?! How can you maintain a relationship with them? Oh you who believe that truth is on your side, show me what “merchandise” you are selling. It amounts to nothing but killing and accusing others of heresy and polytheism. It is all bad. What have you contributed to human civilization? Nothing! Then you try to claim that you are the best among people, and that you will go to Paradise while everybody else will go to the Hellfire.

I am ashamed of the rotten and despicable conduct of the Muslims. Today, the Muslims stand up in mosques and wash their hands of these two brothers – or of the two brothers from the Boston bombings – but is this enough? No. Oh servants of Allah, do not hate people! Love people. Get closer to them. Do you want to invite other people to join Islam, while you hate them and curse them day and night?!

[…]

In my fatwas, I said that we should wish the Christians happy holidays. I wrote that Allah said: “And speak to the people good.” Would you believe that some Wahhabi on Facebook said that this verse referred to the Jews and the Israelites?! In other words, they are supposed “to speak to people good,” while we are supposed to treat people like trash…

[…]

Anyone claiming that we are not allowed to wish the Christians happy holidays has prepared the killers in France, Boston, in Iraq, in Syria, in Egypt…These people constitute the fertile ground for terrorism, which they present as the religion of Allah, conveyed to the Prophet Muhammad, while Islam has nothing to do with them.

How sad for you, not only do you not know Jesus, but you brag about it. It’s not too late for you if you open your heart and accept the truth. John 14:6

I am Jewish, so Jesus isn’t my savior.

Don’t be sad.

With a rotation, remove a part, take a mirror image, add back a part, make assumption that John was seeing the backside of a muslim banner. Seems more clever than chilling, but that’s just me.

Jewish or not, Christ Jesus is your only hope.

“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12)

Since you reject the New Testament that verse means little, but maybe you feel differently about the Prophet Isaiah. Isaiah presents a clear picture of Christ!

““Who instilled so much hatred in these generations?”

Your prophet.”

Although that is true, there has been a huge change in Islam globally since the Saudi oil boom (second half of the 20th century), and the systematic export of their overly-rigid and hate-filled Wahhabi interpretation.

The Saudis fund the majority of Sunni Islamic schools (madrassas), print the majority of textbooks, and train the majority of Imams around the world, through organizations they own outright or control through funding. In places which don’t already have their own longstanding Islamic traditions and institutions (like the US and most of Europe), Saudi influence through funding or direct control is like 90%.

They have changed the face of Islam globally, pushing more peaceful local interpretations toward extinction.

For long periods of time in history, and over large areas, Islam existed with others, with a relative minimum of friction. Lots of variation existed, with lots of local flavor and custom incorporated. That is changing quickly.

Although the Egyptian Islamic Brotherhood (al Ikhwan), trained by the Nazis, has been the vanguard for the military and subversive political components of the rise of jihadism, they could not have achieved their success without the direct funding, and the huge indoctrination and recruiting infrastructure provided by the Saudis.

I notice that the Imam in the story is referred to as al Masri, which means, the Egyptian. Perhaps he reflects the changing winds in Egypt, under the leadership of President al Sisi.

Historically, Islamic political leaders have strongly set the tone for the interpretation of the religion, because Islam is exceptionally wedded to dictatorial viewpoints and constructs.

Egypt and Saudi Arabia are the key objectives in defeating Sunni Jihadism. Saudi Arabia is the doctrinal and funding Nexus, Egypt is the biggest Sunni country, and the main base of the Muslim Brotherhood (even though it has metastisized widely).

Shia Iran is whole different story. It is more of a conventional military challenge, rather than a domestic subversive threat.

These people constitute the fertile ground for terrorism, which they present as the religion of Allah, conveyed to the Prophet Muhammad, while Islam has nothing to do with them.

Perhaps this imam can enlighten me as to what ISIS has done that the so-called prophet Mohammed didn't do?

Did he not invade non-Muslim areas and execute those who would not convert?
Did he not behead "Infidels"?
Did he not take females captive and turn them into sex slaves?

So just where, exactly, does anyone find support for the absurd assertion that Islam has nothing to do with terrorism?

Yes it is very sad. You may not realize it but the reason the Jewish people have been scattered and persecuted is because they rejected Jesus as the Messiah. That rejection has caused untold suffering for Jewish people.

” He doesn’t seem to have a fundamental grasp of his own religion.

I suggest he reads the Koran and Hadiths. -Tom”

I think he’s got a much MORE fundamental grasp of his religion, and recognizes that it has been corrupted by the likes of those he cites. Only real question is which group will end up controlling Islam.

I’ve lived in Saudi Arabia, and Turkey. The Wahhabi sect is a great group of haters. They’re also the one ones who’ve been exporting that hatred on our dime. The Saudi government has been supporting and subsidizing them for decades, and they are no friends of ours. The Turks used to be much nicer people in many ways, but they’re getting more islamicized and not in a good way.

I have read about the background of the area Islam was founded and have read the Koran and Hadiths and have the same conclusion about the Religion as the Wahhabis.

To me they got Islam right and that is why they do what they do for Allah.
They believe they have Allah's words in the Koran and the examples set by Muhammed in the Hadiths to follow, and that is what they are doing to the letter.

Unfortunately for us Infidels we are going to get killed, or have to kill them. - Tom

>>You’re a stone-cold moron.<<

Getting a little personal? It isn't I who have caused any of it, it's all foretold by the ancient prophets like Daniel, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel. God began bringing the Israelites back to their land in 1948 and continues today. Again, foretold by the prophets. The time of the last seven years promised the nation of Israel by the prophet Daniel and the time of Jacobs trouble will begin soon.

>>Hitler’s friends are still among us.<<

Yes, the Muslims are still with us but Israel will soon put them in their place. But that will only result in a brief time of peace after which many nations led by Russia will come against it and be destroyed by the one true God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob after which Yeshua will return to rule on earth.

What ISIS does that Mohammed didn’t, and a big reason for their real unpopularity among Muslims, is that they mainly do these things to other Muslims, no matter the flavor, if they arent with the ISIS political program, and that they use religion to justify it. They are treating Muslims like unbelievers or worse.
If they were doing all this just to Jews and Christians and Hindus they would get better PR among Muslims.

Its always a problem when the founder of your religion was a pedophile, psycho-killer. Not to mention a false prophet. What good can come of this? Can’t make a silk purse from a sow’s ear.
