When FDR made gold illegal to own for everyday people – At the point of a gun
Townhall ^ | Jan 31, 2015 | Nick Sorrentino

FDR, the man who studied Mussolini, who birthed the current intrusive state, who started the drug war in earnest, who put Japanese Americans into concentration camps, who extended the Depression years longer than it needed to be and thereby contributed to the genesis of the Second World War, who tried to pack the Supreme Court, who gave away half of Europe to the Soviets at Yalta, and who confiscated the gold – the real wealth – of the American people.

What a guy. And he still has his face on the dime.

There is a reason why my grandmother, a good New York City Irish catholic despised the man. She thought Roosevelt was a hair’s breadth short of being a dictator.

She was probably being nice.

Well it has to do with anything that is a trouble situation. FDR is past, but as pointed out things that he encouraged still live.

He was a child of wealth and privilege elected 4 times to the highest office in the land, only to rule as if a king. His misfortune was polio, that he kept hidden from the American people out of fear that they would see him as weak and reject him. Far worse for the country was his narcissistic personality disorder.

Truly, if he felt he really had to hide the polio, something was wrong. Something that could have been a boon for the cause of the handicapped was hidden under a barrel.

And it would have been such a rich historical irony, with the fellow at the head of the “Life Unworthy of Life” movement being handed his head by a president in a wheelchair. But he didn’t know about that until well, well into his charade which was now carrying his life.

So many circumstances go unutilized to their best potential because people are proud and will not lay their lives before God to give Him glory.

My dad, born in ‘08, voted for him once, fooled by the fancy footwork, but came to his senses as the odor of socialism became obvious......

My Dad born in 03, was suckered in also , however afterwards always refereed to him as “ That sonofbitch” (all on word)

Yes; my relatives of my grandparents’ generation seemed to be fairly well off - they were all public employees - cops, mostly. They didn’t suffer the Depression like a lot of people around them. But they did have to hand over some gold and they weren’t happy. They were Republicans (who took advantage of the Dems to get jobs, obviously).

I agree, he had a golden opportunity to be a role model for the handicapped. He wasted it, prefering to massage his own ego. What a shame.

Someone as socially adept as Eleanor could have easily spearheaded this. God must shake His head constantly in sorrow from heaven, because in a microcosm this is the story of all people not just Franklin.

Truth is Lusitania was 3 years 23 months before entrance into war.

Lusitania in 1915 was merely an example of what Germany resumed doing in early 1917 with unrestricted submarine warfare on all UK-bound ships. Throw in the Zimmerman telegram proposing to ally Germany with Mexico and Wilson could no longer hold back the public sentiment to end neutrality.

Adolph most likely knew about the polio. It must have irritated the dickens out him! Ha!

And yet, I have never seen it in propaganda from that day. Egotists love to topple other egotists because it’s easy. Why would Adolf muff such a chance?

And, he was elected for 3 terms.

Actually, FDR was elected to an unprecedented fourth term, and then died in office, with VP Truman replacing him.

An heiress acquaintance of mine told me that her grandfather, a wealthy industrialist, was one of several prominent businessmen tapped by the government to help transport the gold to Fort Knox. Such titans of industry already owned security vehicles to move currency. (This was before our current heavy taxation provides armored vehicles and swat teams to every government agency. But I digress.)

One of the gold-moving volunteers was Joseph P. Kennedy. Kennedy's truck full of gold, her grandfather told her, never arrived at Fort Knox.

My grandfather took most of the family gold (about $120K at today’s rates) and had my father go with him to the orange grove the family owned in Fullerton CA. They counted so many trees to the right and so many up, etc. That grove was about 13 acres and so they could get deep in it for cover.

My father dug the hole supposedly six feet deep and in it went the gold and some of the family firearms (grandpa believing that disarming the populace was next.

They sold the orchard in ‘53 for one of the first suburban shopping centers in So Cal. Father went out (and with some difficulty) managed to find the marker and everything went to the ‘home ranch’ in Downey.

When my grandmother passed the ‘hoard’ was divided up amongst offspring. I still have my share of Eagles, etc.

Sicilians don’t give up their gold or weapons.

My Grandmother, whose only two sons were mentally and physically scarred by WWII, danced (literally) in the street in front of her house when she learned that FDR had croaked. She was a very fundamentalist Christian and thought dancing would send you to hell, but took a chance.

Freeper ProgressingAmerica has done a huge service by transcribing Fabian Freeway - High Road to Socialism in the USA by Rose L. Martin, a blow-by-blow account of the Communist infiltration of the Democrat Party — with the enthusiastic support of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt.

I cannot recommend this book Fabian Freeway highly enough. ProgressingAmerica has serialized it on the thread linked above, and I believe also put it on Kindle. It was long out of print, due to its deeply researched indictment of the entire stealth progressivist insurgency from its Wilson days to the 60s, which threatened the leftist publishing establishment.

We are only now shaking our heads and saying, "how did this happen so quickly?", when in fact, the Fabian Socialist "progressive" movement to destroy America has been in the works for a century.

FDR gave away a lot of freebies in exchange of the nation adopting marxism. Ironically ww2 saved the nation from a worse fate of all out Marxist control. Or, slowed it down at least.
