Apple delivered the greatest earnings report in history on Tuesday.
That's not hyperbole. Apple earned $18 billion in net income over the three-month period of October to December 2014. That's more than any other company has ever earned over a three-month span.
Apple earned those mind-melting profits thanks mostly to the iPhone, which is an incredible business.
Apple sold 74.5 million iPhones, up 46% from the year prior. The iPhone generated $51 billion in revenue, giving each iPhone an average selling price of $687.

BE MY GUEST!,
But I shall not be trolling ..
>>And your computer $$$ are getting good Conservatives elected. Pray tell, HOW?<<
You can’t prove a negative (anyone who knows logic knows that). But I CAN prove YOUR $$$ go to liberals in general and went to obozo particularly.
Yes, it has, and yes, I am. ;-)
“Yeah, the anti-Apple people are VERY OFFENDED that people buy Apple products and that Apple is as successful as it is!”
LOL! Reeeeeeaaaalllly?
I guess I’m also offended that people voted for Obama, and he has been so successful too, right?
Couldn’t be the obnoxious self-righteousness. Not the arrogant smugness. Just being offended. Ok...
I dont feel the need to post articles like that to FR. Sorry. I have a bit more respect for this site.
>>Yeah, the anti-Apple people are VERY OFFENDED that people buy Apple products and that Apple is as successful as it is!<<
No, we are irritated that people jump up and down while waving their at best par device screaming “we’re #1!!”
There have been many articles about Apple’s success (minus the obvious fact that success supports liberal causes and candidates). We get it. The cult is large and willing to blow money for self-defined prestige.
So if some of us get a kick out of taking the cheerleaders down a peg by pointing out the cultlike nature of the support, the so-so nature of the products, and the liberal causes, don’t cry so much.
We are just scratching an itch.
That would be like me being offended at the gasoline you put in your car, or me being offended by the car you buy ... and then having me roll “Obama” into the equation of what I’m offended about ... LOL ...
I have a PC at home, a land line, and a cheap, 5-year-old Trac Phone with minimal features. I get by ok. If others think they need to spend $687 for a smart phone, and $100-200 a month for cell phone usage, that’s their choice.
Are you going to start being offended at what gasoline I buy or my choice of stations (which I’ve posted here, too) ... or maybe you’re now going to be EXTREMELY OFFENDED at the iPad I’m currently using to type this post [Ewww ... that just makes them nasty, nasty characters that I’m typing right now] ...
You Anti-Apple people are hilarious ... and it’s amazing that you’re even found on a conservative forum ... :-) ...
It certainly is their choice, and Apple has made an EXTREMELY PROFITABLE BUSINESS out of anticipating the mass market’s choice. I commend Apple for their success in doing that with the consumer!
I have a bit more respect for one of the most successful American companies around!
I have a Mac at home, a land line. An older iPhone.
IPhones are about $99 now (not $687) and mine is about $65 a month ...normal but you can get less.
See, you were exaggerating.
Apple trolls come and go over the years. But, boy, all of them are tight wads!
The $687 figure is directly from the article.
Oh, look, another long time Apple Troll!!!
Sorry, but my Samsung Galaxy does things no iPhone can do. Apple was once a product which had no competition, but that was long ago.
I also hate the way Apple controls how you can do everything. My wife bought an iPad.....no flash was available for it even though most of the web at the time was Flash. They give consumers no choice; it is my device, if I want Flash, and the possibility of the bad things associated with it (and I do) then I should at least be able to flip a switch to turn it on. But Apple does not give consumers that choice.
Likewise, you need to go through iTunes to move files. I hate that. I want to drag and drop just like in Windows.
You couldn’t pay my to buy an Apple product at this time. All the more for the fanboys.
The $687 figure is still from the article.
Well, I have about 50 friends and co-workers who did ‘t spend that for a phone.
