“But heres my question what changed?”
Well, I for one soured on her when she did the whole “maybe I’ll run/maybe I won’t run” dance in 2012. You don’t rent a giant tour bus and travel around the early primary states if you aren’t going to run, but she decided to pull that stunt for some reason I can’t fathom.
I still like her. However, I've seen a lot of Republicans do that, and it's never good. In 2008, with the big fiscal crisis, McCain was runnign for president, then he suspended the campaign, then he was running. Ross Perot -- on again, off again. It's not good.
I'm looking for a decisive leader. I still like Palin a lot, but if SHE isn't sure she should be president, it makes it hard for others to think she should be.
Here should I run or not dance is simply self promoting her television show. New one coming soon. She has jumped the shark and needs to move on.
Then there's her defense of John McCain, which I found reprehensible and [honestly] chock full of lies.
what “stunt” have you ever pulled that did a damned thing to advance the cause. I am sick and tired of faux conservatives who think running for office is the only way someone should impact events. Thats NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT conservative at all.
I agree, Sarah does some things that are wholly inexplicable. Sometimes to her benefit; sometimes to her detriment; sometimes flat-out mysterious. I didn’t like the 2012 stunt, either. It seems also to be playing again in the run-up to 2016.
I think it’s fair to judge somebody in a kind of double set of lights. In one case, you look at the overall, the average impression that person creates. In the other case, you judge incidents and events on a case-by-case basis. Overall, I think she’s extraordinarily interesting, talented, and politically savvy. I wish she would ditch the folksy vocabulary because it reminds me too much of another politician. Namely, Pres. Obama.
But what I really can’t fathom is this. How is it that people on the left, like the writer of this piece, can use a single incident to define the rule by which you trash somebody irretrievably? If I could see just one instance of Obama’s fumbles and there are many used to discredit him overall, I think these people could be more credible.
In the meantime, I think we just have to stop reading their drivel. Because both in the overall and the incidental, it’s pretty much intellectual trash.
I for one, think that she wanted to, intended to, even. I think something happened, whether it was something the GOPe pulled or a family situation, I don’t know. If you ever go back and listen to her call to Levin right after she announced that she wouldn’t run, you can hear the emotion in her voice, as well as Levin’s. I do remember her at some point mentioning her kids, I think that maybe the flak and fallout from the Mcguiness book was too much for her family at the time (young daughters in school). There was also the daughter getting screamed at by that queer in the bar.
