For the occasion, the First Lady was dressed in a loose sapphire top, black pants, and a long printed coat. While her garb was conservative, FLOTUS received some criticism from onlookers and Twitter users for her choice of clothing -- or lack thereof. Saudi Arabia imposes a strict dress code upon women, requesting that they have their faces and heads covered in public at all times. Women in Saudi Arabia are also not allowed to drive, and must always have a male accompany them in public.

In what many have speculated as a political move from her part, FLOTUS stepped off Air Force One without a veil over her head on Tuesday, which incited outrage on Twitter. According to the Washington Post, more than 1,000 tweets were sent out on Tuesday under a hashtag, which when roughly translated, is "#Michelle_Obama_unveiled."

I do not like the Obamas one bit, but on this subject, Mrs. Obama's critics can go fornicate themselves.

Boy, I never thought I’d give a thumbs up to this chick. I’m also impressed she looks kind of casual in her clothes - like she was going to the mall.

This is all kabuki. More and more people suspect this man is a Muslim, and she is defiant in the face of interacting with these Muslims as an inferior woman-wife.

I don’t believe a word of any of it, defiance or no. This uncovered head thing is a put-up. She looks like she does in this picture because she’s a selfish, entitled b!tch.

Her job at the University of Chicago Hospital ($300K/year) was to convince poor people to go to a taxpayer supported county hospital for their expensive ailments so the hospital could get them high dollar insurance patients instead. One stone cold b!tch.

I agree with her not wearing head covering, but I don’t agree with her choice of outfit. I think she should have worn a black outfit, with a subdued or no pattern. It was supposed to be a solemn occasion. I read translations of several comments left on the articles about this and only a few mentioned her not having head covering. All of them that I read said her clothes were not appropriate, some stated her outfit would have been fine if it had been all black. There are pictures of Laura Bush in a solid black pantsuit in S.A. and I remember no criticism- and she wore no head covering.

The looney left is pushing the idea that she was making a statement in support of women, I don’t agree with that even if true. There is a time and place for everything and if she just had to make a statement she should not have gone with Obama on this visit to pay respect of a leader’s death.

I agree completely. If I was there, the evil Saudi rulers could expect more than a frown.
