SHEAR YASHUV, Israel (AP) A missile fired by the Lebanese Hezbollah group struck an Israeli military convoy on Wednesday, an apparent retaliation for a deadly airstrike attributed to Israel that killed six Hezbollah fighters in Syria earlier this month.

Israel had hoped the Lebanese people would rise up and rid themselves of the Hezbollah/Syrian/Iranian cancer within their nation during the 2006 conflict. Instead, Hezbollah has become integrated into the politics and government.
Israel has previously stated that infrastructure and leadership targets would not be avoided in the next conflict. Lebanon made its choice and it was a terrible one.

Lebanon is too divided along sectarian lines to really decide anything for themselves. They had hope during the “Cedar Revolution” when Bush Jr. was President. They managed to oust Syrian OCCUPATION forces but then, Barry happened and everything went into a tailspin all over the planet.
Lebanon's central government has a hard time controlling “Hizbollah-Land” in the south on Israel's border. Hizbollah is stronger than most NATO countries now. Before there was “Hizbollah-Land” there was “FATAH-Land” and the Israeli security zone. Lebanon has wonderful potential but is trapped on all sides. Left to their own devices, who knows, they might have made peace with Israel but were prevented in doing so by their throat-cutting brethren.

Hezbollah has taken credit for attack that killed at least 2 IDF soldiers. One soldier from UN reported killed as well.

Lebanon made its choice and it was a terrible one. That may partially explain Obama's sending a political hit team to take out Bibi in the next Israeli election. The flap about speaking before Congress is just an excuse.

To be sure, Obama has done a lot to embolden groups like Hezbollah and fan the flames in the ME. However, the chance for Lebanon to finally rid themselves of this disease came and went after the assassination of Rafiqi and the 2006 conflict.....before Obama was even a candidate.
At the beginning of hostilities, Israeli UN Ambassador Dan Gillerman told his Lebanese counterpart that the time was now for Lebanon to choose between peace and terror. He was on MTP in July 2006 and said the following:
I still remember Lebanon 30 years ago as a thriving, vibrant, fun-loving entrepreneurial country. Its been taken hostage by the Syrians in the north and by Hezbollah in the south. Its been strangled. And what were seeing today is a direct result of the horrors which Lebanon is experiencing because it has allowed the Hezbollah to fester within itself.
True then and worse today.

Always. There is no one without the other. I wish we had taken care of this decades ago after the Marine barracks bombing.

I assume the Hez actually used a ATM and not an ex-USA M-1 Abrams for this attack. Yup, our _modern_ USA allows the Hez and other pieceful types to use and operate our equipment.
I don’t know how many M-1s are operating for piecefuls, but I think it’s more than 4; captured by them. As if no one saw that coming; certainly our USA isn’t going to track them down, so use is allowed by USA.

Hizbollah and before them FATAH were/are festering sores feeding off the host country, Lebanon. Their whole reason for being is to attack Israel from someone else's sovereign territory. That is what they live for and invest all their resources in. Of course in the warped Arab Muslim mentality, they call their actions the “RESISTENCE” and that keeps them in the firm position of being the “protectorate” of the south Lebanese population who are mostly Shiites.
I been there and it is/was a gorgeous country with a great people who are captive to their own internal weaknesses.

Maybe Israel should attack more Syrian units like they did yesterday. This will help Obama to get rid of Assad and let ISIS take over the entire country. /sarcasm

It’s only a matter of time before US equipment sold/given to Lebanon and Egypt start inflicting Israeli casualties.

What country is this “UN soldier” from? Because that would be important information, the UN has no country or soldiers really
