Breaking: Miss Universe contestant answers a complicated question with platitudes and clichés.
During the aforementioned beauty pageant Sunday evening, Miss USA Nia Sanchez was asked by boxer Manny Pacquiao what she would say to global terrorists if she were given 30 seconds with one.
I would say, that, you know, as Miss USA, I can only say Id spread a message of hope and love and peace, she replied. And so I would do my very best to spread that message to them and everyone else in the world.

Well, looking at her photo, it seems to me that she has all her parts in all the right places and nothing has fallen out. Since when is a beauty contest, and the voters of such, concerned about answers to 'gotcha'-type-questions?
Now that would be awesome - and ballsy.
And remember a few years ago, how that one girl as raked over the coals.because she was against homosexual marriage.
Lesson from that and other similar episodes, is that we are only allowed to have politically correct views of any subject. Otherwise will be subjected to character assassination and seeing our lives destroyed by fascist liberals. We aren’t allowed to have differing opinions. Instead their view is we must be destroyed.
I thought it was a terrible question to ask her. I mean, what could she really say? If the lame brain in the WH can’t figure it out, why would someone expect her to?
what’s a muslim terrorist? kidding
BTW, your onto something PROCON. just like illegal alien is now undocumented whatever, I believe a very creative, progressive term will be used soon by all lemming media to identify terrorists. A few more serious attacks and we should see how creative they (those that now own words) are.
Since at least 2009,when openly homosexual pageant judge asked about homosexual marriage. And then, after getting the wrong answer to his question, he embarked on a media campaign to destroy the girl.
yes I do remember that.
About the only safe topic for these girls to address would have been inflated footballs in the NFL.
Further, 'gotcha-type' questions have not a place in such a contest either. No worries.
I remember a South American contestant years ago who was asked about her favorite sport. She said: "Baseball."
The host asked her if she knew who George Steinbrenner was. She got this baffled look on her face, then she said quietly: "Is he a pitcher?"
I think she won, actually. LOL.
It was 1981, and it was Miss Venezuela. In addition to thinking that George Steinbrenner was a pitcher, she also thought Ronald Reagan was the greatest man in the world.
Her reply to the “Global Terrorist”(islamic terrorist) should have went something like “stop killing christians, and jews or we’ll nuke mecca, and medina”.
And had she said “I’d bomb them out of existence” what would the reaction have been?
“also thought Ronald Reagan was the greatest man in the world.”
could you imagine a young woman in a pageant today, especially from a Latin Country, saying she liked Ted Cruz or Sarah Palin?
1981, a million years ago.
Good point.
She should have answered that she’d tell them Salami, salami baloney” to them.
Agreed. I was hardly listening (staring at the beautiful woman...not whoever was on TV, I mean my wife) but did note that several of the questions were of a kind not correctly/bluntly answered on a happy occasion devoid of meaningful content, as the proper answer would, while correct, be one helluva downer.
In contrast though, Miss Ukraine _did_ say something positive about supporting the military, with implications that it was in fact expected to kill a lot of enemies.
ANSWER: “Rule .303 is in effect, dirtbag. Adios, MF.”
An honor I’m sure she’ll remember for as long as she can.
Sheesh.
