In November up here in the UP of Michigan we had 36 inches of snowfall in one day. It was the wet heavy stuff though = snowblower attachment broke 6 shear pins cleaning out the snow. Took a couple of days for the area to be cleaned out by county and city crews as it was the starting of deer hunting season. deer hunting season was hampered by the snowfall, lower number of deer harvested. I did not have a lower number of deer harvested nailed two deer from November 15 - Dec 23 with the car.

Not to worry folks. The hookers and drug dealers have offered assurances that they will be working despite the snow.

Power is going to go out and some elderly people are going to die. I don't see anything funny about this storm. Predicted wind gusts to 65mph will take out power.
I recall when Hurricane Sandy (think that is the name), went through up there and high rises in New York City had no power. An elderly lady living on the 20th floor had no water so had to walk down 20 flights of stairs to get water. I had plenty of stored water and wished I had been there to walk up those flights and give her plenty of water.
I'm sorry this is happening to these people.

Funny how calamities like this always happen at media hubs. The coverage on Fox news was ridiculously over the top.
The NYC officials were telling everybody how to go about their daily lives and what they "should" and "shouldn't" do. It was the ultimate nanny state speech.
Of course this is also the "worst ever" with all sorts of implications that it was caused by SUVs.The people in NYC are apparently unable to cope with a storm without government intervention because it has never snowed there before, apparently.

Garbage and recycling will be suspended Monday and Tuesday so New Yorks Strongest can put full efforts into clearing up to 36 inches of snow.Or not, depending on the union situation. Remember 2010?

Read about the Blizzard of 1888 in NYC. Fifty inches of snow fell from March 11-15 and 200 people died. Some were trapped in burning buildings, while horse-drawn fire wagons were blocked by snow drifts twenty feet high. That was a truly catastrophic storm, and it wasn’t caused by global warming.
