Her stepping down as governor in an unfinished term and her reality TV rather than political [elected to something] history since 2008 will not play well.
Palin’s window of opportunity would have been best in 2012.
And, of course, she will get slaughtered again by the media and GOPe if she does enter a presidential race.

In 2012, many waited on the sidelines to see what she would do. She waited until late into the political season to say she would not run. By then, it was too late for another strong conservative to jump in.
Modern presidential races, even at the primary level, require a lot of money. That is why Obama entered extremely early in the 2008 cycle, forcing Hillary to enter sooner than she would have liked. Jeb Bush is doing the same currently. He is going after the ‘big’ money, so other contenders will need to get off the fence if they plan any serious challenges.
Modern races, regrettably, have become more about money. The 2016 race from both major parties is expected to cost around $2 Billion.
Bullcrap. She announced her decision to not run on October 5, 2011, over a year before the election.
For what it’s worth dept re: Palin announcement...

seeking the 2012 GOP nomination for President of the United States. As always, my family
comes first and obviously Todd and I put great consideration into family life
before making this decision. When we serve, we devote ourselves to God, family and
country. My decision maintains this order.....
