The problem with Dukapee is that he plays well to the “Matlock/Old Country Buffet” crowd. And they vote.
He should star in a remake of “Elmer Gantry”, that’s where his talents lie.
The summit is organized by Bob Vander Platts, who was Huckabee’s campaign manager in Iowa in 2008. Huckabee has deep a organization in Iowa. Most of Santorum’s staff in 2012 was Huckabee’s in 2008. A lot of Santorum’s allies in 2012 (I.e. the Duggar family) are leaning toward Huckabee over Santorum. Also, Huckabee is wooing Sheldon Alderson, Newt’s sugar daddy.
He donated to Steve King and supports Steve King’s congressional campaigns.
Huckabee, Schafly and Steve King oppose Karl Rove’s death threats against Todd Akin. Steve King trolled Karl Rove in early 2013 and his conservative Victory Project group got no donors.
I think Todd Akin actually hurt amnesty pushing by the establishment. If not for Akin the GOPE would have a convincing argument that all they needed to do was pander to hispanics not white women.
The House GOP just sold out on abortion. Why not let Huckabee say something, and make Priebus get upset.
I dont like Huckabee or Christie but they are to the right of Perry on immigration.
Huckabee said the idea of 35 year old Dreamers is crazy.
Christie didn’t give the illegals tuition aid. Then rhetorically asked them why they are complaining about getting freebies moreso than other demographics; as well as asking how can non-citizens be 2nd class citizens.
