Deere & Co , the world's largest maker of farm equipment, will lay off more than 900 employees at plants in Iowa and Illinois in the latest round of job cuts spurred by a decline in grain prices that is hurting demand for agricultural machinery.
The layoffs, which represent about 3 percent of Deere's workforce in the United States and Canada, are set to begin early next month, the company said in a statement.

Wasted away again in Obamaville,
Searchin' for a job so I can earn my salt.
Some people claim that Bush is to blame,
But I know it's Obamas fault.
Theres no rhyme or reason,
They are all commitin treason
With nothing to show but a brand new tax or two.
But they are real beauties,
Despotic duties, how they got passed
I haven't a clue.
Wasted away again in Obamaville,
Searchin' for a job so I can earn my salt.
Some people claim that its Bush we should blame,
Now I think,-- hell with them its Obamas fault.
I blew out my flip flop,
Stepped on a pop top;
Cut my heel, but I just cruise on back home.
Because no medical care will the doctors render
They say theres little service I can tender
And theres no need for me to hang on.
Wasted away again in Obamaville
Searchin' for a job so I can earn my salt.
Some people claim that Bush is to blame,
But I know, it's my own damn fault.
Yes, and some people claim that Bush is to blame,
And I know because of my vote it's my own damn fault damn fault.
Too much corn.
Maybe we could burn some of the surplus?
30,000+ jobs eliminated this week.
The economy MUST be improving!
Well luckily were in the midst of a booming Obamaconomy, so these poor souls should have no problem finding another job.
The media should really show some compassion and stop running stories like this that aren’t illustrating the awesomeness of this great economy the dear leader has brought us.
Old Obama killed the farms
E-I-E-I-O
And those farms couldn’t buy new tractors
E-I-E-I-O
With a broke broke here
And a broke broke there
Here a broke
There a broke
Everywhere a broke broke
Old Obama killed the farms
E-I-E-I-O.
I own a John Deere 970 tractor with a loader, hoe and many other implements. My hope is that they will be able to stay up on parts until things turn around, if they ever do.
