Fort Hood did not have a system in place that could have anticipated a deadly rampage last April that left four soldiers dead and 16 wounded, according to a U.S. Army report released Friday.
There were no clear warnings that Spc. Ivan Lopez would go on a two-block shooting spree before killing himself on April 2, the report released Friday concluded. It also said Lopezs supervisors would have had difficulty recognizing any personal problems leading up to the attack.
The report also found that no single factor prompted the incident, despite Army investigators previous findings that Lopez had been in an argument after being denied leave.

Why should Fort Hood have any system in place...I mean, it’s not like they’ve ever had a shooting rampage on their base before......oh, wait.......
Ah yes. “The system failed.”
In other words, it was no one’s fault, and no one will be held responsible, or punished.
A guy wandering around shooting people is a pretty clear warning sign.
Were I prez, first day I’d direct all soldiers be armed 24/7 (good cause aside). On-base active shooter wouldn’t last long.
Bingo. And then, the Army did, in fact, have a system, and dozens of signals, to detect the threat. They consciously chose to ignore it. A system is only as good as its operators.
There will be more incidents as long as the “smartest guy in the room” is running the show.
Simple solution: Identify and keep a database consisting of ALL Muslims on the base in and out of uniform from commanding officers on down also keep tabs on each and every one of them along with all the Mosques they attend because they are ALL potential Islamic terrorist threats!
There isn’t any system that could detect such violent breakdowns. However, based on the incredibly small number of combat veterans who go violent, the media seriously tries to suggest that all veterans need scrutiny.
And this has been going on a very long time. Even when the veterans returned home after WWII, there were breathless editorials to the effect that they were “kill crazed rape fiends”. And every time a veteran violently broke the law in some way, it would start the media chorus anew.
preach it bros....
Speaking of Fort Hood, was there ever an update on the soldier found dead in a pool of vomit who died of ‘anything but Ebola but we won’t test to see’?
Gun free zones. That is the true problem.
