A suspected terrorist stabbed at least nine people on the 40 bus line in Tel Aviv near the Maariv junction on Wednesday morning.
Two of the victims were seriously injured and several others suffered moderate injuries, Magen David Adom said. Others at the scene were treated for shock.
The injured were evacuated to the Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer and Ichilov Hospital at Sourasky Medical Center in Tel Aviv.
The attacker fled on foot but was shot and neutralized by police and is being questioned. The assailant is a 23-year-old man from the West Bank city of Tulkarm, illegally residing in Israel, police said.

For things like “suspected” and “alleged,” blame the lawyers, not the journalists. Unless those terms are used to describe the “innocent until proven guilty,” lawyers can argue their clients have been “tried in the press,” and usually succeed.
Isn't it amazing how the knife just jumped up off the table and stabbed those people. Bad knife, bad, bad knife. Are theses POSs natural idiots, or do they have to work at it?.

Over the last few months I’ve been shocked to realize that only a small percentage of Israeli citizens are legally allowed to carry weapons.
All of us at Free Republic have seen the photograph of the young female Israeli school teacher with an automatic rifle slung over her shoulder as her very young students walk into a building.
But, apparently, this is very much the exception, not the rule.
Not one person on this bus, including the driver, had a firearm, so the homicidal Muslim was able to attack the passengers at will.
Recently, armed Muslims (maybe just one, can’t recall) attacked a synagogue, I think in Jerusalem, and murdered about 4 Israelis.
No one at the Synagogue fought back because the Israeli citizens were not armed.
As we say in America, when seconds count, the Police are only minutes away.
