Don’t both teams use the same balls? If so, wouldn’t a deflated ball have the same advantages/disadvantages for both teams?

To me it seemed every time Brady took the field, he brought his own ball to play with...................

That depends upon the NFL’s protocols for changing the gameball. During a game played in a steady rainfall, how often is the ball changed and who has charge of the balls that are not in play?

Deflating footballs would theoretically have made it easier for Brady, who completed 23 of 35 passes for 226 yards and three touchdowns, to throw and for his receivers to catch in the bad weather of Sundays game in Foxboro. But it also should have benefited Colts' quarterback Andrew Luck, who had a miserable game, completing 12 of 33 passes for a mere 126 yards. The real mystery here is what the Patriots put on the ball to make Luck's receivers drop those catches they should have made.-Tom

Dont both teams use the same balls?"Oh, you're no fun anymore."
To: Cowboy Bob
No. Each team provides the refs with THEIR balls.
This prevents any crap between the teams. “Your” balls are given to the refs prior to the game for inspection and they are not in the control of the teams until after the game.
This is a stupid allegation. The Pats will simply say, “we gave you the balls prior to the game. We did not touch them. FU.”
