I wouldn’t listen to anyone whose face and skin have turned into fried chicken.
Time and age can do things to you that you never expected when you were young.
When we’re young, we see old folks on the street and say to ourselves, “I’ll never let that happen to me; I’ll stay on top of things!”
But life is full of unexpected exigencies, and griefs, and trials; things don’t always turn out the way we thought they would when we were young; and all of that takes a toll.
However, it does seem to be true that a lot of really wealthy, worldly people do seem to age very poorly.
When I was young, I had a friend who believed that rich people aged better because they had the money to enjoy more leisure, had less worry, etc.
I’m an old lady now, and I know that my friend’s notion was NOT correct.
The only thing that keeps us young in heart, mind, body, is what’s IN our hearts and minds. I’ve seen so many wealthy people age so sadly. It doesn’t matter how much money you have; it matters where your heart is, and how in-tune with Spirit your heart and mind are. And: the more you care about how you age, the worse you will age; you have to care about Other Stuff, and lose yourself in the sheer joy of living.
Live Large, Love much, and Laugh a lot. Stay interested in, and unprejudiced toward, new experiences and ideas. Then, you’ll do fine.
