Hey, we started off the day with a happy story, so in the interest of keeping the tone positive here on the Hot Gas ranch, let’s finish my shift up with another one. I know all of you are fans of capitalism in general, and just love seeing hard work and inspiration pay off for the little guy who makes it big. With that in mind, who wouldn’t feel their heart melt over the story of a spunky gal from the left coast who rises from humble roots and winds up helping her husband tuck away a few dollars for retirement?
Ever wonder how lowly paid lawmakers leave office filthy rich?
Sen. Dianne Feinstein is showing how its done.
The US Postal Service plans to sell 56 buildings so it can lease space more expensively and the real estate company of the California senators husband, Richard Blum, is set to pocket about $1 billion in commissions.
That’s really nice for them. Retirement planning is difficult in the best of times. Many people have to move into smaller homes, cut back on a few things or switch to generic drugs on their prescription plan. An extra billion dollars will probably come in handy and take a load off their minds.
At this point, you may be wondering, wait. Can she do that? Is that, strictly speaking, legal?
Not to worry, citizens. She’s got that covered.
This feat of federal spousal support was ignored by the media after Feinsteins office said the senator, whose wealth is pegged at $70 million, had nothing to do with the USPS decisions.
See? Now don’t you feel silly for being so suspicious? Enjoy your Saturday evening. Quotes of the Day will be along in a bit.
Someday all that money won’t buy him a loaf of bread.
Well hell, no wonder the *itch is retiring. DiFi engineered hubby, a billion dollar taxpayer deal.
Why aren’t these people in jail?
Bingo.
He also made $ billions in Chinese ventures when Feinstein was on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Corruption should be a capital offense.
“He also made $ billions in Chinese ventures when Feinstein was on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.”
I believe he also has a hand in VA hospitals.
Gov’t corruption at least. It is treason.
It’s the way they all work.
Even on our side.

Good.
It is, a capital offense. Perhaps, the punishment is not always apparent.
Too many Corrupt Politicians with way too much power
If Boehner could put down his liquor for a minute, perhaps he could say a word of criticism over this disgusting waste of taxpayer money to feather the nest of a fellow lousy politician. He won’t, nor will McConnell or anyone else in the “leadership” of either party.
I believe he also has a hand in VA hospitals.
also SF Airport,
and the boondoggle of them all...The CA high speed railway construction contract.
