(IraqiNews.com) On Thursday, a local source in Nineveh province said, that the Wild Boar aircraft which belongs to the U.S. Air Force has carried out four air strikes that killed and wounded dozens of ISIS elements, adding that the aircraft sparked panic in the ranks of ISIS.
The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, The U.S. aircraft A-10 Warthog (Wild Boar) carried out, at dawn today, four air strikes on gatherings of ISIS elements in the village of Sultan Abdullah in Makhmour district, southeast Mosul, adding that, The raids resulted in the death and injury of dozens of ISIS elements.
And unbelievably the powers that be want to retire this fine aircraft.
“dozens of ISIS elements,”
Like hydrogen, oxygen, and what other elements?
That old war horse is one of the winners in air warfare history. It’s not sexy, but it’s a beast! They keep saying it will be retired, but it can still do the job.
“An unbelievably, the powers that be want to retre this fine aircraft.”
That’s because it’s so beautifully ugly and effective.
(Can’t have unhappy terrorists running around, can they?)
IMHO
Never been in the military, but from all I have read about this plane, it has to be one of the most effective they have for support of ground troops. Something just doesn’t smell right about retiring it.
Being an efficient killing machine doing EXACTLY what it was designed to do in spades, IS sexy.

Under Obola and his treasonous EXEMPT Congress,
it is being retired because it does not
help “Moslem (Islamic terrorist) esteem”, which is
most important to the EXEMPT.
Love that aircraft. But I think it’s pretty cool that they are killing Muslims with a pig. ;-)
Carbon, Lot’s of Carbon.
I see them occasionally on flights from Davis-Monthan AFB.
Beauty really is in the eyes of the beholder and I think they are beautiful.
They and the V-22 Ospreys from Yuma.
“And unbelievably the powers that be want to retire this fine aircraft.”
The air force general in charge at the time famously said, “if it doesn’t go faster and higher than the last model, I don’t want it.” The air force so wanted to stop buying the aircraft that they ran the manufacturer out of business. Only the ground pounders wanted it and they have the least political pull. Weapons systems procurement is all about political power, pull, and money in key states or districts. It has nothing to do with defense.
Death by pig be upon them
I sure hope we don't get an outcry from the Iraqis about the A-10 being an unclean (haram) aircraft, from an Islamic standpoint.
“Love that aircraft. But I think its pretty cool that they are killing Muslims with a pig. ;-)”
Truly, poetic justice.
Seen a few Warthogs at Memorial Day parades. Pretty cool machines. But somebody stopped that due to budget cuts or something.
The A-10 was always one of the Infantrymans greatest friends. It’s ability to provide close air support is unmatched by other aircraft in the inventory. I don’t understand any of the logic behind the effort to retire it.
I guess America's Men Seeking Men media doesn't even want to raise the possibility of having to explain how this is happening if the war in Iraq is "over".
Like hydrogen, oxygen, and what other elements?

Hopefully there's some Pb, W and depleted U in there somewhere- all essential minerals necessary to make a good jihaddi...
