A mother in Britain has told her doctors that she will definitely not take their advice to terminate the lives of two of her triplet babies in abortions in order to supposedly save the life of one of them.
Jaime Halsey and husband were told they were expecting twins in October but an ultrasound scan showed one baby was 25 per cent smaller than others. Her physicians recommended an abortion, but she’s refused saying she will continue the pregnancy and hope for the best even though doctors claim the chance of all three babies surviving is 50-50.
The abortion selection is known in the medical industry as “selective reduction.”
“Selective reduction” is the abortion of one or more babies in a multiple pregnancy. Basically, if a woman is pregnant with twins, triplets, or more—often through in vitro fertilization or another fertility treatment—and she decides she only wants one or two babies, she aborts the rest.
The UK Department of Health figures demonstrate that the number has nearly doubled since 2006. In 2006, 59 women chose abortion in a multiple pregnancy. In 2011, the number has risen to 101. That’s just the figure from Britain where Halsey lives, and the worldwide figure of the number of selective reduction abortions annually is likely in the thousands per year.

But the mother-to-be, who lives in Abington, Northampton, said she would not sacrifice the lives of two of her children just to save one.
The couple, who have already have a two-year-old daughter, said they were determined to bring all three babies into the world to join their ‘happy family’.
The former trampolinist said: ‘We had our first scan in Northampton at 12 weeks and were immediately referred to specialists at John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford.
‘They told us one of the twins is 25 per cent smaller than the other and there’s a massive risk of further growth restrictions.
‘I also risk putting my body under three times the strain to keep them healthy, so they advised the termination. My initial emotional reaction was “I can’t do that, I will keep them all and carry on with the pregnancy whatever”.
Halsey is now 26 weeks and has been told she will have to deliver the triplets, all believed to be girls, by caesarean. The new arrivals will then have to stay in incubators and be monitored carefully before they can be taken home.
“I am determined to make this happen. I could not live with myself if I sacrificed two of them – to save one. We also had the chances to see the faces of our three little girls on a 3D scan which was really exciting.
‘We never thought about terminating two of the babies for a second, we want to bring all three of them into our happy family.’

killing a baby I don't care if they all have three heads is grotesque. Maybe we should apply the theory of selective reduction in another way? You are not medical people you are butchers and murderers and no better then these animals running around the middle east with rags on their heads raping and murdering everything in their path, EXCPET that you should know better!

Teachers union as well. You're going What??? What has abortion to do with the Teachers Union? Well ask yourself this question. Why on God's earth would people who depend upon children to make a living, support Planned Parenthood? MONEY! The teachers want more money but they want to have to deal with less kids!
When we who went to school in the 70's (because that's my age so it's what I know) there were 3 classes of 30 kids per class per grade. Yes 90 kids three teachers. Well now they might still have three teachers but for some reason they can only handle 15 students.
But they always want more money. Pretty soon we will have one teacher per student and we will still have to pay them 100,000 plus per year and the kid still won't be able to read.
Good teachers DESERVE to be paid for what they do, and the money is there to do it once all the "dead weight" is removed. Teaching should be like any other line of work: those who are good at it should be paid accordingly and those who can't do it need to be fired.
I went to a very good private school (all of the graduates went to college, average SAT score was over 1200 back when it was just math and verbal, etc.), where the teachers weren't paid much more than in public schools, but they were great teachers. There were several teachers who had been at the school for over thirty years and had taught the parents of current students. They loved teaching; they weren't looking to get rich, but they deserved to be paid what they were worth. They also had the benefit of not having to teach problem students who had no intention of ever learning anything.
Disabled children generally receive the highest payouts so abortion is highly encouraged when any risk is found. Finance makes abortion a no brainer: $1000 abortion versus a $40 Million lawsuit.

Not to sidetrack any discussion, but in my classes (late 60s to mid 70’s), there were often 35-40+ kids in one classroom for one teacher. I don’t recall any teacher’s aide either. Granted, this was in Catholic schools, and we taught by nuns for most grades. So I agree with your assessment, that in general, teachers now are asking for more money to teach fewer children.

I know many good teachers that teach at private schools for less money because they can avoid the government mandates, at least on some things (that's getting harder as well)and the unions.
But lest we be lead astray from the issue at hand which is abortion. Sure there are "good" teachers that fully support abortion, birth control, euthanasia, embryonic stem cells, etc. Some do because they are deep as a thimble, some because they actually have no problem with it. The danger is they are teaching our kids.
Cautionary tale to all the well I used to be Catholic and all the Nuns (which if you were paying attention are sisters, nuns are cloistered), were mean. Well duh! They were young, hormonal and many of them did not want to teach but in those days, they had teaching, nursing or missionary. Those were their only choices. So no wonder they were crabby!
You know what would be interesting? Show “Sophie’s Choice” to kids these days and see if they even get it? I don’t mean little ones either.
Have them read Jonathan Swift's "A Modest Proposal" and see if they think it's satire or a "how to" guide.

I often call them by either designation, but you’re most likely right that nuns are cloistered. However, please don’t stereotype all Sisters as mean and crabby. Sure, some people have had trying experiences with them, but not everybody.
I must be one of the fortunate ones. I’ve had eight Sisters teach me over the years, and they were all wonderful people, kind and loving. Sure, some of those eight were stern sometimes, but they were never mean. I will admit I was afraid of the Principal, but it wasn’t because she was mean. It was because going to the Principal’s office usually meant something bad.
To be truthful, some of my favorite school memories are those with my Sisters. So much so that a few years ago, I searched for them and found the convent’s assisted living home for them. My sister and I went to visit them, and it was a wonderful reunion. We stay in touch now on a regular basis.
I just know what I was like at say 20 years old. Put me in a class of 30-40 little people that size and I most likely would have had to have been talked off the roof at some point.
