KUALA LUMPUR: Despite being an investigator for almost two decades, analysing the Indonesia AirAsia flight QZ8501 will be one of the toughest challenging for Nurcahyo Utomo, who knew the pilot personally.
The National Transportation Safety Committee investigator, Nurchayo said listening to recording from black boxes over and over again can be disturbing and requires utmost mental strength.
“Listening to the playback of a black box involved in a crash is not like listening to music or a discussion.
“We are listening to a recording that represents the last moments before the crash and it is disturbing. There are times where the investigators would get unnerved listening to the recording,” he told Viva.co.id.
Analysing the recording while listening to their final words like “Allahuakhbar” repeatedly, give the investigators goose bumps, Nurcahyo said.
“It is as if we can feel them... Allahuakhbar, Allahuakhbar were the last words said before they died.

one wonders why they are already speculating about the last words of the pilots before they already heard the tape...are they trying to prepare us for something, or perhaps create a meme (hands up don’t shoot) before the truth comes out?
in other words, why nto wait for the tape to show us that the last words actually were before planting a mental seed?

I have only heard that phrase in conjunction with terrorism. I did not realize that it could be used in a different context. BTW, the most heard last words on Cockpit voice recorders? “oh shit!” Somewhat more apropos given the situation (IMO).

The article also says that analyzing the voice recorder will be one of the hardest challenges for the investigator, implying that it is yet to be done. And since the just recovered it a couple of days ago there is very little chance that they've already had a chance to listen to the recording.

Pilot was a muslim. Muslims praise Allah before they die. Just because he said those words by itself is not enough evidence for terrorism. They have the boxes so we will get more info and see...
As a Jew I’m taught that the Shema should be the last words I say before I die. I always say it quietly whenever I’m taking off and landing, the most dangerous times of any flight. I’m assuming the same thing is true of Allahu Akbar for Muslims.

allahu akhbar (our god is greater) is more of a victory cry.
