It looks very stereotypically submarine-shaped. Can someone explain to someone who doesn’t know much about submarines what would be learned from that picture that we couldn’t have probably thought up if we were thinking of what a submarine might look like?

I have a theory about submarines. The are small at one end, get bigger in the middle, and then get small again at the other end.
