Sen. Coons: My daughter does not think Biden is creepy

Chris Wallace, host of “Fox News Sunday,” couldn’t help but ask Sen. Chris Coons (D-Del.) about a video, which went viral, of his daughter looking uncomfortable while Vice President Joe Biden whispered in her ear and gave her a kiss on the head during the senator’s swearing in ceremony last week.

“I have to ask, cause a lot of people have been speculating about it, does she think the vice president is creepy?” Wallace asked.

“No, Chris,” Coons said with a chuckle. “She doesn’t think the vice president is creepy.”

To the contrary, Coons went on to say that Biden, who has known his kids all of their lives, was being thoughtful.

“I could hear him,” he said. “He was leaning forward and whispering some encouragement to her about how when he was sworn in his own daughter Ashley was 13 and she felt awkward and uncomfortable.”

Coons explained that Biden was just trying to help his daughter Maggie get through a day in the spotlight.

“I think she’s pleasantly surprised that more people have heard of her than have heard of me,” he said.

When you have to say that Biden wasn't very creepy, well, that means he was pretty creepy.

Really, it’s probably that girl is shy and he’s so rarely trotted out that I don’t think he knows the protocols. Bambi never lets him appear in public unless totally necessary, because he’s white, a dim bulb, but not malicious and probably would end up being more popular than his boss.

I despised Biden at the start, but now I feel sorry for him.
