PARIS Tens of thousands of people including more than 40 world leaders streamed into the heart of Paris on Sunday for a rally of national unity to honor the 17 victims of three days of terror.
The aftermath of the attacks remained raw, with video emerging of one of the gunmen killed during police raids pledging allegiance to the Islamic State group and detailing how the attacks were going to unfold. Also, a new shooting was linked to that gunman, Amedy Coulibaly, who was killed Friday along with the brothers behind a massacre at satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo in nearly simultaneous raids by security forces.
"Today, Paris is the capital of the world," said French President Francois Hollande . "Our entire country will rise up toward something better."
Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas were among the leaders attending, as were top representatives of Russia and Ukraine.

You are well-suited to your moniker!!!
BTTT
Do you think this March was a grassroots organic thing that was co -opted by the government to make it appear that the government and the people are on the same page wrt terrorism/Islam?
Two points:
One, Bush actually could have done that after 9/11. And he would have had the support of the entire West. Greece, Brazil, etc. all would have sent their best units to help. Bush tragically (and stupidly) let that unique opportunity go.
Two, you are certainly astute in mentioning India. In the coming clash of civilizations, there will only be two allies we can count on, Israel and India.
For later
What you said. If I were Prez I wouldn’t have gone or sent anyone. But Obama not going is not for the same reason.
The only thing these fools marching around have done was generate a bunch of social media traffic for themselves.
Hastags, “Likes”, Youtube videos, and reblogs!
Just the usual slactavist attention-whoring, “look at me be part of the story too” mentality that has ruined the west. Remember Kony2012? #Bringbackourgirls? You will likely find more selfies of these people to prove that they were there, than demands that their government put an end to this.
Just a million people that want to show that they “care”, until you can’t mine anymore online fun from it. In a few days this wont even exist as a thing anymore. No paper will dare cross the Muslims. No government will clamp down on the massive immigration from the Islamic world.
And we will all just be sitting ducks until the next attack, where the social media carnival start up all over again.
When Bush addressed a joint session of Congress on 9/16/01 they would have given him whatever he asked for.
He failed to identify the enemy, he failed to propose a strategy to eliminate the enemy, and he failed even to correctly describe the motive that led the enemy to attack they way they did.
As a result of his failures, we are much worse off than we were on 9/16/01, in almost every possible way.
They should have marched right into the no-go zones.
Fox News still using “gunmen” rather than “terrorist”.
No place for the non-PC.
Well at least their first inclination wasn’t to remove the offending movie from the theatre, or to try to persecute the author of the offending article or cartoon...
What a waste of time by thousands of cowards.
” Today, Paris is the capital of the world,” said French President Francois Hollande . “Our entire country will rise up toward something better.”
What he means of course is that Paris is the capital of the dhimmi world.
” Looks like the Mooslime Brotherhood badly overplayed their filthy hand”
You’re kidding right? They just won a huge victory - no publication will dare say anything negative about islam.
