A tidbit buried at the end of a Romney advisers longish rationalization of why Mitt Romney may yet again run for the GOPs nomination suggests Romney does not think Jeb Bush has what it takes to win the GOP nomination.
BuzzFeed reports:
According to one former adviser, the biggest political question Romney will be considering as he makes his decision is whether Bush will be able to make it to the general election.
Look, Jebs a good guy. I think the governor likes Jeb, the adviser said. But Jeb is Common Core, Jeb is immigration, Jeb has been talking about raising taxes recently. Can you imagine Jeb trying to get through a Republican primary? Can you imagine what Ted Cruz is going to do to Jeb Bush? I mean, thats going to be ugly.(continued)

Well, morticians are quite organized as a profession. Mitt can ORGANIZE the embalming of the cadaver known as the GOP after he loses to Hillary in 2016, that's for sure.

What would even be better is Cruz one on one with Hillary open mic. open stage no bars hold.
Yes its so great it has no chance of happening. :-)
Milt has not interest in winning the election, he just wants to prevent Ted from winning.
Is this what the liberals mean by "cutting off your nose to spite your face"?
And tbats a bad thing

Republican voters, if you want Hillary or the fake Cherokee Liz to win, you will support Jeb or Milt.
No Jeb, No Mitt, No Rick, No Mike nononononono! No more crony capitalist, compassionate conservative, RINOs. Nononono. I want a constitutional liberty candidate. I want a fire breathing reincarnation of one of our founding fathers. We are going to need it soon since we are so screwed up as a country. We may not survive anything less. If it splits this country in two then fine. I want personal liberty with small government. I don’t want a big government conservative or liberal. LIBERTY OR NOTHING! Too many here want big government conservatives. Once you make government the answer you lose.
True dat.
Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.
Mitt wants to be a placeholder candidate just like last time, so that the republican ticket does not go to anyone even remotely conservative. If he runs this time, he will once again run a burnt ground campaign to stop conservatives, and then coast through the general.
If this is Mitt’s idea of being crafty, he’s pathetic. He’s as transparent as glass.
No one has seen this FReeper discouraging a Jeb Bush run for the GOP nomination in 2016 here on Free Republic, for this very reason. We need him to be the lone RINO on the stage this go ‘round. He won’t last past the South Carolina Primary.
Everyone but Jeb, needs Cruz to win Texas.
And Mitt is really into socialized medicine.
Mitt don’t run LOL!
No candidate can win a presidential nomination or the presidency itself if his wife has a top-level job on Wall Street, as Ted Cruz’s wife does.
And it’s unlikely that a candidate with virtually 100% name recognition among Republicans can win the 2016 presidential nomination if he’s only being supported by 5.5% of Republican voters in the latest polls, as Ted Cruz is.
By contrast, among Conservative candidates, Scott Walker and Ben Carson, who have been under the radar, are each receiving 8% support and neither one’s wife is earning million-dollar bonuses for helping Goldman Sachs work its selfish machinations through the American and global banking systems.
If we want a Conservative to win the 2016 Republican presidential nomination instead of Mitt Romney or Jeb Bush, shouldn’t we be getting behind someone who can win, like Scott Walker or Ben Carson, instead of the inevitably doomed Ted Cruz?
