From Baltimore was Pelosi. She’s home in DC.

And, let’s not forget, Mr. Abbott wakes up in DOWNTOWN Austin everyday.

So, as a citizen, setting aside he’s the Governor, he is certainly eligible to voice an opinion and act on it if he chooses to.

The Austin hipsters have their collective panties in a bunch over this one as well.

But Abbott hasn't poked the two biggest local overreaches - "sanctuary cities" and gender equality ordinances that outlaw common sense in the name of ethnic or sexual diversity. IMO, these are even worse than bag bans.

I agree.

So many FReepers cursing California for its liberalism. Throughout the late forties, increasing in the fifties, into the sixties, and still ongoing is the migration from icy Winters Liberal East Coast to Sunny weather in not only California, but Florida as well. Look what’s happening in Florida also. It’s not just retiree’s either.

Texas might look towards Louisiana, and think about Katrina for their woes also.

Life is corrosive indeed...all aspects. Incrementalism at every turn is rust on our republic.

My opinion.

We knew it would be coming. Radicals sent here to do 0bama’s dirty works doesn’t help either.

People bring those back repeatedly. They are dirty. Studies have shown that they carry bacteria.

And they usually sit in a hot truck festering like in a petre dish.

I won’t argue that we get our share of leftist malcontents from those other regions, but we DO have a recent large influx of liberal California carpetbaggers stirring trouble up in Texas, especially in Austin and surrounding areas.

Has that skank Eva Longoria given up on her Texas project yet?

The Left is throwing good money after bad here, it’s unlikely the State is going to become less red for the foreseeable future.

Incrementalism is the preferred method for socialists. It’s the kudzu vine of political and cultural change.

I saw that Sen. Boxer is retiring in 2016.
Maybe you can ship Abortion Barbie over to California.
I suspect she’d have a good shot at winning.

What you say is true, 'prohibits' is the key word.

Your original statement used the word "granted", which is very different.

The Californians have been doing it to Washington State for years! We’ve also had an influx of people from NY, VA, etc. move in. Not to mention a lot of non-Americans (Chinese, Russian, Indian, Mexican, Somalian, etc.).

I believe one could count NV, NM and a few other states in the CA in-migration as well. Same as New Yorkers are doing on the east coast and FL. Montana is the same way - many Hollywood “stars” bought hundreds of acres of land because it was so inexpensive. Wish they’d stay in Beverly Hills and Malibu.

I don’t go to Austin much anymore. The streets are in terrible condition and the city is short of money. They also like to experiment putting obstacles in middle of some street to beautify? or something!
I go to Austin once a week to work at the Homeless Center to distribute clothing. I was told there are at least 4500 hard core homeless in downtown Austin. You’ll find them sleeping on alleys, under the bridges, and beggars on every street corners.
Austin used to be a really nice place years ago before the Libards took over the council.

I hope that now that Allen West is a Texan, he may be able to help anti-Kalifohrnianize it.

Lets hope the trend continues, and all the mentally ill twisted leftist all bail out of CA. I don’t care where they go.

BTW, all those Texans who were begging people to flee to texas for the past 15 years were warned repeatedly. Massive populations flowing in for whatever reasons are never good and is certainly not a recipe for success.

It comes with a big ugly price.
