In 2005 he was arrested for assaulting an officer. So, it sounds more like he always was this type of guy, but now he’s descending even further and spiraling out of control. Count me as one who never was a fan.
A clarification: the officer was ATF. The charges were quickly dropped. According to Zimmerman:
"I was in an altercation with an undercover officer that was taking part in an ATF sting for underage drinking in UCF. He never told me he was an officer and assaulted me first. Shortly after that, in September 2005, the same unit was conducting a sting at UCF and an officer was killed by an OPD officer because he discharged his weapon and did not identify himself."
The officer assault was against a plainclothes alcohol enforcer, and GZ said that at the time he didn’t know the guy was a cop, and after he found out, he allowed his friend to be “processed” without further incident. The charge was dropped, too.
