LEGENDARY Australian actor Rod Taylor has passed away in the early hours of the morning US time after suffering from a heart attack.
The 84-year-old, who starred in Hollywood flicks including most recently Quentin Tarantinos Inglorious Basterds, was said to have died at home in LA following a dinner party.
It was to have been his birthday on Sunday.
His daughter Felicia confirmed his death to CNN.
My dad loved his work. Being an actor was his passion calling it an honorable art and something he couldnt live without, Felicia, a former CNN News correspondent, said in a statement.
He once said, I am a poor student sitting at the feet of giants, yearning for their wisdom and begging for lessons that might one day make me a complete artist, she continued, so that if all goes well, I may one day sit beside them.

He was in a few old Twilight Zones. Saw him in a recent interview were he talked about clashing with Hitchcock on The Birds.

That and the Birds are the two most memorable for me.
I thought he would have made a good James Bond in the 60s, accent excepted.

Not to worry. He had the control knob of the time machine in his pocket.

The only thing I remember him in is "The Birds", and I think as some obscure Naval officer or some sort in a British movie.
I thought he was already dead.
May he rest in peace.

This man could say more with a glance than 99% of the mugging fairies you see today. The good thing is to go to used DVD stores and he's still there, or late night on the TV.
There are worse legacies.

Enjoyed his work, especially in “The Time Machine.” RIP.
To: ChildOfThe60s
He did a picture in the 1960’s with Trevor Howard, that was a James Bond type film call “The Liquidator”. Wasn’t bad and the female lead was played by Jill St. John.
About 1966 I think, pretty good movie.
To: ConorMacNessa
Never knew he was Australian.
RIP
