The key is “well placed”. Unless that one shot is delivered neatly into the brain stem, a target about the size of a plum, the suspect may still kill you or another victim, even if the wound he sustains is ultimately not survivable. Central nervous system hits have the highest potential for instantaneous incapacitation but that fatal “T” is a small target indeed.
I have seen cases in which suspects with multiple hits in the torso fight on for minutes, even though they eventually collapse.

This is just getting ridiculous. The man was clearly a menace, the neighborhood has one less thug and is better off and they are grumping about it. But only because HE IS BLACK.
