Last September, Mark Levin demanded an apology from UFC commentator Joe Rogan for alluding to UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones well-known douchebaggery.
Levin defended Jones a violent serial philanderer, drunk driver, and drug abuser as a great guy and very polite Christian
(SNIP)
"He didnt realize that the mic wasnt turned off a month or so ago and some of the things he was saying was really contemptible. And the after he won the fight, he was still contemptible. "

So who does Mark like.. Pacquaio or Mayweather?
Too bad about Jon. Stuff happens.
Happens to the best of us. So...
He’s also a cocaine user and is in a drug treatment center:
So yeah, not a good guy I’d say.
He’s still a GOP member so there’s that...
But he’s another nanometer closer to leaving I’m sure.
I honestly don’t get Levin sometimes.
He repeatedly tells us that Washington DC will not allow itself to be reformed, and that we will have to do so from OUTSIDE the system they have corrupted for themselves (eluding to an Article V Amendment process), but continues to advocate reforming a corrupted party from inside.
Does he not see the disconnect from his own statements? A lawless corruption will never allow itself to be reformed by remonstrance and law.
I have a suspicion his ‘one inch” before leaving the GOP would be measured in miles by many of us who have already left. If yesterday was not an illustration in futility of reforming a party that is now as corrupted as the other, he will never leave it. At least not publicly.
There is nothing to get. His actions and words do not match.
When Bhoner does that we bitch.
When Obama does that, we bitch.
When ANYONE ELSE does that, we bitch.
So logically and to be consistent, we should hold him to the same standard. There are some I have been arguing with over this for 2 days that think he deserves his own race card. But the proof is in his actions and I don’t care who he is, he should be as accountable as anyone else.
I join in Mark’s sentiments about Jones. It’s especially aggravating that this phony prays on the mat prior to his fights and has a scriptural tattoo on his chest.
I wonder the same.
It seems his only way to change the Republican party/Washington is via an Article V Convention.
At best, that would take a decade or more from start to finish as the results of the convention would have to be debated by each state legislature.
At worst, the compromisers would come out with amendment revisions for the 1st, 2nd, etc., to put more power in the hands of the government.
Meanwhile, the GOPElites move more and more to the left.
Check my post history for yesterday for a look at the blowback I got over this. I have no intention of retracting. I couldn’t retract a fact. It ain’t mine to begin with.
Still going on today. People don’t like their Gods besmiched when their Gods besmirch themselves. We arent supposed to notice.
I don’t follow MMA and didn’t really know him before, but in the context of a place I used to work, I interacted with him a lot. He was polite, mild mannered, friendly, and very generous without show to a few people he noticed in need.
Every fan that approached him got a photo, and usually several minutes of friendly banter.
Great sense of humor. And oversensitive people about race is a topic he always jokes around about.
He does radiate that young and cocky vibe in spades. And he does make some youthful mistakes that are cringeworthy.
But overall, he was a damn good guy and I hope everything works out well for him. Would be a good next door neighbor type.
Laughing just thinking about some of his jokes.
For once I actually know something about the thread. Im excited.
I think you misunderstand what Levin advocates - of course, he is for Amendment V, but also says we should also vote for conservatives to help make changes from within. One isn’t exclusive of the other.
A lawless cabal who do not currently follow the Constitution, are not going to allow themselves to be restrained by whatever comes from an Article V Amendment.
You cannot stop tyranny via civil means.
Period.
It is very hard for people to wrap their brain around the fact that lawless people do not care about being lawful. Changes to the law mean nothig to them.
I think Levin misunderstands reality.
Yesterday was incontrovertible proof that change from within IS IMPOSSIBLE in the corrupted halls of power now ruling us.
Levin seems to speak out of both sides of his mouth on this issue. One one hand he says Washington will never allow itself to be reformed, and then he turns around and advocates we continue to vote for conservatives in the GOP so we can 'change it from within'.
A disconcerting contradiction
I do not think Levin is willing to admit to himself the truth of where we have arrived, even though he has written books and spoken about where similar adventures in history have ended up.
A truth he will never speak, that history teaches with absolute certainty - you cannot stop tyrants and tyranny via civil means. The uncivil are not persuaded by the pleas of the civil. It takes the threat and use of force to heel tyrants.
Whether they be IslamoNazis in the global jihad, or MarxoFascists in control of the government in this former Republic.
well, we agree to disagree on the issue.
Which issue?
Levin’s doublespeak on the inability to reform D.C. or to change the GOP from within?
If it’s the latter, if the self-evidence of the past few months and yesterday does not convince you that the GOP is beyond changing from within - nothing will.
Oh, I have no delusions about Washington reforming itself. In fact, I’m just about finished with politics - they all deceive and lie to us - so why waste my time on something that I can’t do anything about?
