Rep. Mia Love, R-Utah, shocked some conservatives Tuesday when the first vote she cast as a new congresswoman was to keep Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio, as House speaker.
Twitter erupted, with several people claiming to be in her district saying they had lost faith in their previous hero, and that she had shown her true self. Remember, this was not a vote on legislation, it was a vote for the speaker of the House.
Love, in an email to the Washington Examiner, provided some insight into why she chose to keep Boehner as GOP leader.
There were no qualified or notable campaigns for speaker within the Republican Party other than John Boehner, Love said. Casting a vote for a candidate who has not actively campaigned and does not have the support to be speaker is an indirect vote for Nancy Pelosi, and I will not vote for Nancy Pelosi.
Love also reminded voters that she is playing the long game when it comes to fighting for conservative principles.
There will be a time and a place for me to stand as a lone voice of dissension, but the vote for the speaker, is not that place, Love said. For me to be an effective congressman over the next two years it is important for me to be on the side of the elected speaker.

Free Republic colleagues ... here's a proposal for a "Free Republic Action Task Force"
All it requires is (first and foremeost) Jim Robinson's "seal of approval" ...
and twenty (20) dedicated, intelligent, mature Patriots ...
NO MONEY IS REQUIRED .... isn't that wonderful ?
==============================================
It was observed today at Free Republic ...
They don't see how little money it takes to organize and activate a small group. And the idea is to start a "movement", which also does not take a lot of money. And there are a lot of disgruntled people who have some money to donate/spend who might love to be a backer of a movement.
==============================================
The 2015-01-03 rallies cost a total of "zero" dollars to set-up and organize and promote (with the exception of internet provider service and the monthly electric bill)
In less than FOUR weeks ... over 150 Facebook Conservative groups were invited, 2,000+ e-mails were sent out around America ... the organizer (a Facebook "newbie") attracted over 3,250 "new" Facebook "Friends" in less than three (3) weeks.
==============================================
Not being "snarky" here, just illustrative ... however, "naysayers" are invited to leave the DAMNED discussion at this point ...
Just go somewhere else if all you want to do is "bitch" ...
==============================================
Just imagine what could have accomplished if a "team" of fifteen (15) individuals worked together for eight (8) weeks (instead of the five weeks before the 2015-01-03 rallies) ?
That is "clearly" the approach for the next "event".
And ... if Free Republic were the "key" organizer ...
what if each of the ten (10) Free Republic coordinators were in touch with "five" Free Republic state chapters each ...
coordinating locations, logistics, etc ...
and items such as "follow-on" tasks (calling congress, etc) were clearly explained to everyone ...
with the necessary "information infrastructure internet links" set-up at Free Republic.
The necessary event "Operational Security" would be assisted if the ten (10) Free Republic coordinators had a special access code for the "Event Public Planning" links.
Free Republic "Coordinators Number Eleven and Twelve" would focus on "radio" contacts (Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Levin, savage, Josh Bernstein, etc) and "news" contacts (including Fox, Drudge, Blaze, RedState, WND, etc) ... respectively ...
Free Republic "Coordinator Numbers 13 and 14" would focus on inviting "high profile" guests to the "rally events" across the nation, including local conservative talk show hosts, congressmen, etc. ... east and west of the Mississippi ...
Free Republic "Coordinator 15" would liason with Freedom Works, Heritage Foundation, Ted Cruz, Jeff Sessions, Louis Gohmert etc.
Weekly status meetings could easily be done with "Go-To-Meeting"
Now ... how's that for a "back of the napkin engineering sketch" ?
All Free Republic needs to do this is 15-20 "trusted" and "vetted" persons ... and Jim Robinson's approval ...
.

Once again, some on here operate without full knowledge - they needed more than 29 votes to oust bonehead because many of the Demoncrats went to that funeral in NY - so, they needed more than 29 - please, people, do your homework before spewing things that aren’t factually correct.

Present would have been fine.
No. A Present vote means the vote is not counted. Eventually, enough present votes could create a plurality. In that plurality, Pelosi could step in, create her own mini-majority, and wind up speak of the House again.

it was a pretty epic fail on her part, did she really not understand how it worked or is that just her cover story?

I read the entire article and missed the last line. Thanks for pointing it out. Astounding.
It’s like she didn’t realize she was vocalizing the private thoughts in her own head.
It’s also as if she came down with campaign amnesia - terminal phase.
I’m convinced it can’t be fixed any more.

Ah yes, there’s always tomorrow. Just wait until we take all three branches of government. No, wait...

The only way is for defections and starting a new party.
How's that start a new party working out for Libertarians? The only games in town are either Republican or Democrat. No one gives a flip for independents. They're looked at as rebels. Try running a candidate on a rebel platform.

Her long game includes supporting Bonehead who finances the current tyranny.

I’m not shocked. Jodi Hice and Barry Loudermilk from GA both did the same thing.

Not being "snarky" here, just illustrative ... however, "naysayers" are invited to leave the DAMNED discussion at this point ... Well, speaking as said "naysayer"....
We have had versions of this in the past. We have/had the various state Chapters. We had the Free Republic Network. With some of these, we had a lot of internecine infighting with no one gaining from it. We have had the most success with organizing and supporting individual events, often with little or no $$. FR is a volunteer community. I hesitate to call it an "organization."
It looks to me like you are calling to put in place some sort of apparatus. However, I have seen no delineation of goals.
Having led various volunteer orgs in the past, I have found it is important to "paint the picture" for your volunteers on what you want to do and why you want to do it.
Let me humbly suggest you begin there.
