In the biggest defection from an incumbent speaker in at least 100 years, 25 House Republicans voted for someone other than John Boehner to serve as speaker in the 114th Congress.
Here's the full list, in order: 1.Rep. Justin Amash (Mich.) -- Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) 2.Rep. Brian Babin (Tex.) -- present 3.Rep. Rod Blum (Iowa) -- Rep. Dan Webster (R-Fla.) 4.Rep. Dave Brat (Va.) -- Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-S.C.) ...click link for more

I just moved across town here in Orlando. My new Congresscritter is Dan Webster. Glad to see he ran against Boner, even though he didn’t win.
That weak white icon is valuable....globlista have worked hard to produce this image....
oh well
Gutless, just like the rest.
where was Steve Stockman?
Thought there were 28 that voted against.
Gowdy didn’t show up. He claims weather delayed him, but he announced that IF he had been there, he’d have voted Boehner. He is NOT the man people claim he is.
Newspaper article shows 25 voting against. Not sure where people are getting 28?
Just to clarify, #8 “Duncan” is Jeff Duncan (S.C.), and he voted for Trey Gowdy.
Apparently Jimmy Duncan Jr. (TN) voted for Boner.
28 were shown on the screen during the voting on c-span.
I agree. Present is the same as voting Boehner. It shows that Babin has no backbone. It was a cheap way out of having to stand up and be counted.
Frankly folks, we’re kidding ourselves. Either we’re as marginally right as they think, or they have nearly joined the Democrats on the far left of the spectrum.
Our values being what they are, it’s obvious who is out of line, but how do we convey that to the populace?
Is it out of line to support:
1. Our Founding Documents, the Constitution of the United States among them
2. A strong defense
3. Reasoned Trade policies
4. A secure border
5. The protection of our own culture, so it survives
6. Reasoned spending
7. Reduction of our national debt
8. A return to sanity regarding the Welfare State, and all it includes
9. A return to reasoned interior policies, that balance protections of our forests with reasoned uses of them
10. Support business and employment in the United States of Citizens of the United States
11. Support of our allies, and firm policies against our enemies that block them and offer them a way to enter the civilized society
12. Policies that build up the United States and do not diminish it
13. Policies that treat all citizens by the same set of rules in all walks of life
14. Policies that seek to block terrorists and disease from entering the United States
The Democrat Party and the Republican Party want very little of this.
They are anti-American. There’s no two ways about it.
Looks like he is now ensconced in the GoodOleBoy party.
If just one person had gone rogue. One...
For the lack of one good man...
As of just a few minutes ago, I am no longer a registered member of the Republican party of 40+ years. Just changed it online to non-affiliated.
Non-affiliated is where I started and now Im back.
Welcome back. :)
You too?
:)
You would have Nancy Pelosi as Speaker by going in that direction....look at her votes as they were...People would have maintained their vote on the second go round...or the more liberal could have voted Pelosi.
Getting another vote would not have elected another Republican...that was so obvious as the votes were taken, that it would be Boehner, OR Pelosi.
Here is a list of the newly elected Pubbies. I’m going to keep a list of how they voted for Speaker. Keep me pinged to how these Reps voted, please. I’ll also try to go through the LIVE thread. Thanks.
Their voting record starts counting, today....
(Please excuse typo’s/or incorrections...I did a speed list :)

So everybody was afraid to buck the traitor establishment. It’s more proof that we the people have lost control of our government. It’s going to take a lot to restore the republic and end the dictatorship of the elites.
My congressman is supposed to be conservative, so I got to e mail him WHY he voted for a Democrat called Boehner...
Jody hice voted for boner?
