I’m guessing that the House, which is more sovereign than the Senate (which belongs to the states), has to have one member (the Speaker) before others can be sworn in. People used to take those oaths and forms seriously.

I hold no more hope for Congress in the future than I have for the past several years. The institution has been neutered and rendered obsolete by corrupt people in the executive branch.
My hope lies in the states being able to hold onto and regain their individual power, and perhaps someday things will get so bad that another decent individual might get elected as president. That's not going to be 2016, as the machine is already maneuvering to assure that the GOP nominate (again) someone who is certain to lose.
I'm afraid that this country is going to have to hit bottom before people will wake up and start back on the road to recovery... and we still have a long way to go before we really hit bottom.

Based on the vote today, I have to say at this point I cannot vote republican again, based on this vote 2016 will see Hillary vs Rino, I am a Cruz supporter and will vote for him but I would prefer he run as second party candidate if he is going to have a chance, there is now in concrete only one party and that party I refer to is the Progressive Liberal Democrat Communist Party (PLDC), the republican and democrat party officially ceased to exist, the dem party died completely six years ago, the republican party died on this date 1/6/14 their bodies are now laid to rest in the same coffin, “We The People” need an oppositon party affiliation.

I am thinking it is time to revisit nullification at the state level.
I question their patriotism every day. A conservative who votes for the enemy is NOT a conservative, but is a pretender. I will not vote for a traitor, or an amoral POCrap.
Anyone who supports amnesty is a traitor to the United States, as it will bankrupt the country in a few years.
Anyone who funds Obamacare is a traitor for much the same reasons.
The GOP just funded both, therefore, the GOP in D.C. is anti American, and is our enemy. Period!
